Its ok to have a $3mill new development but I'm afraid that on field performance this season has been worth about $2.50. Good to hear there was a reasonable crowd, I was initially against the cars around the oval but now I too beleive they do create a lot more atmosphere .
I cannot beleive that Ellis, Handby and Twomey are all in the 2's .Surely they should be recalled after the bye, how did they go today?

I think a few should be recalled from South's twos, they had a very impressive 5 goal win against North, and that was a North side with 12 players of league experience (and some bloody good ones at that such as Coulter, White, Walker, McIntyre, etc).

Do they know about the history of the club?

Perhaps they do. That could be the problem

I agree

3-6-1 is not great but it's only 1 and 1/2 wins behind Norwood on 5-5 in 4th spot

Drew with North, beat Norwood, close game with Central last week

Besides, losing to the mighty Roosters is no disgrace ....

I honestly don't know where to for South from here, I saw them in Rd 1 and they were a rabble, many weeks later they're still a rabble.
The talent is there on paper.
Im a bit of a Robert Pyman fan but something's got to change, perhaps let the SFL take over the club or something.

I will say this for the crowd and the ground overall though. Best North vs. South crowd I have seen at Artic Park since it's been open. South's catering is first class and their game day presentation is very good. I wasn't a big fan of the cars around the ground scenario when it first started but having experienced it first time today it does actually add some atmopshere and fills up what used to be a barren wasteland. Well done to Phil H and all involved at South. Good to catch up for a quick chat with Phil just before the bounce - keep up the good work.

Agree with all of that. Have to hand it to South. The catering is excellent and they are doing their best they can with the facilities down there. I don't like the idea of cars around the oval but it's better than having nothing out there.

To be fair it though it appears Ginever and Pyman have got together in the past two years to see who can out bid who with big named high priced dud recruits. At this stage in a close race Port are winning that one just.

Talking as a Port supporter, i cant totally disagree with you there (some good recruits, but quite a few duds unfortunately), the clubs recruiting hasn't been great of late.

From an AFL viewpoint for anyone who saw the game, how did Carlile go today? Did he stand Gill?

I retract my previous bagging of the cars idea .I think it does add to the day without doubt and improves the feeling of the ground.

To start like that means that you're not going to win :? (with some much appreciated help from the goal umpire  Surely they must look at that rule)

Mention to Sampson for his 5 goals. A good effort.

A bye next week. We need it.

Yes that opening "block" by the goal ump was one of the more bizarre things to have occured at a SANFL game. Surely that rule needs looking at if the goal umpire stands middle of the goals and clearly the ball is going through for a score save for the fact his legs got in the way, then it should count - South robbed on that one for sure.

Yeah, that rule must be looked at. there was no reason why that umpire should have been infront of the line for a start.

Decent crowd there today. Credit to the many north fans who made the trip down.

Spell Check says that is a record for South v North @ Noarlunga
... and I know better than to argue with the statsmaster of the SANFL.
