JARS V WEED

WEED
I had mentioned a while back about his opiniated views on how
good the CD team was in the media
He said this CD team was the best he has ever seen
Also said they would go through undefeated.
I think this not right for an opposition coach to be saying this

WEEDS statement in todays press
______________________________________________________
' I WAS PROUD OF THE BOYS FOR THE WAY THEY REACTED."
" AT ONE STAGE IT COULD HAVE BLOWN OUT TO 7 OR 8 GOALS
BUT THE BOYS SHOWED ENOUGH FIGHT TO NEVER GIVE IN "
______________________________________________________

Im confused
I didnt see the game
I will just say that :
WA were 32 points up in the 2nd qtr.
NA were down to 16 fit players in this game, and no Interchange left.
To me that was an inglorious defeat.
WEED should be disappointed WA should have won with that lead and the injured NA team.
How can he proud of that effort. ??????????????????????????????????

JARS
Done a magnificent job to reserect this club from cellar dwellars to
a very slick compertitive outfit.
JARS comment
_______________________________________________________________________
" WE WERE A LITTLE UNBALANCED WITH THE INJURIES AND WE HAD TO GRIND OUT
A TOUGH WIN WITH NOTHING ON THE BENCH."
_______________________________________________________________________
Those comments were far more indicative.

SUMMARY

JARS is a positive coach and gets results and is a terrfic media man.

WEED is a defeatist coach with his contributions to the media of late.

What the Weed said to me back at the club after the game it was a better performance than the last few weeks. The boys actually showed some fight this week even though we were up by 5 goals. We were 5 goals down at the last change to out score them in the last quater i think that is what the weed was talking about

To outscore a team with 16 fit players by 12 points is no great achievement.
He should be pleased they fought out the game, not be proud.

Geez Mal your a hard task master and being a little pedantic with your interpretation on what Weed actually meant. I'm with Thiele on this one given West's last outing before Sat they obviously played better against North. However if North hadn't kicked 5 points in row of which all were very "getable" shots early in the last quarter we would have been 10 goals plus up and had a much bigger win. To compound the misses, we allowed our usual number of junk time goals to our oponents to flatter the scoreboard in the end - did the same with South the previous week. However the comeback by 16 fit men yestrday clearly took it out of the players but they should have never got themselves into that position no matter how improved West's effort may have been.

Must admit mal, Im with BRPRB and thiele.
Considering how West did against Glenelg in their last game and how the North team looked on paper it was a good effort, they never gave up too, it was just North's usual mental capacity of playing in surges that won North the game (and will never win them a flag).
Shouldn't you look a bit closer to home considering Norwood's effort on Saturday in the match of the day?

Have to say if my side was on the end of a hiding like Norwood copped i'd be trying to deflect some attention as well. Not too long ago Central kicked 16 goals in the last term at Prospect so i know how mal feels. Anything to avoid talking about his teams shortcomings.

Having said that they could well come out and knock us off this week. Easy to forget Norwood were in 4th spot and playing pretty good footy before they headed out north. Just goes to show how far ahead of the rest Central are.

What has Norwood got to do with this thread. ????
Might as well bring up Shane Watsons failure in the World Cup Final as well.

Yeah I agree but you seem to be good at stirring the pot of clubs/coaches that perform worse than your own. Personally I'd be having a good hard look at my own club/coach before making comments on others like I did in 2003.
Just my opinion and I agree it has nothing to do with your topic and I apologise for that as it was wrong of me for doing something Im often critical of others doing. Im a hypocrite.

Just for the record CD were sensational.
They controlled the ball all day, rarely made a tunover, and were simply
a class above My Legs.
They played one of the best games of 4 quarter football Ive ever seen in the SANFL.

He went on to talk about the lack of effort etc.
Thats what I would expect a coach to be saying after a 158 point loss

Forgetting who NA played yesterday
to be 32 points down, end up with 16 fit men , is either a great effort
by NA or a very ordinary effort by WA
I didnt see the game so I will leave it up to NA + WA supporters to post on it.

maybe the majority of the norwood players had the 'flu !! yeah the central players flew past them & got to the ball first, as mal on another site said this (the 'flu) when glenelg beat them on the queens birthday match last year
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Obviously Weeds not gonna be happy with the result, however he saw his boys put in a much better effort vs a very strong North Outfit. He's being a realist that's all.

A rolls royce with 4 flat tyres, a flat battery, and worn out spark plugs
that should have been beaten by a mini minor in a drag race.

Have we got a digital image guru who could give Jars the mullett of Weed, whilst leaving the Weed with a shiny scone.

A surefire way to get a chuckle!
