And so you should. You're an SANFL league team after all. A couple of good wins and some honourable losses should be a minimum expectation of any team and season. I'm sure West fans will be able to make similar claims as well. Unfortunately, we're not talking about being competitive mid range teams here, but premiership contenders. For mine a premiership contender is more consistent than Glenelg have been thus far. However, we all know how this game can change and in 2 months the Bays may be sweeping the comp and the dogs looking like the pretenders.

I think that Port are a good chance of getting a run of wins together as the season draws to a close, how many times have people written Port Adelaide off in games only to see Port come back and thump them against overwhelming odds? I would be surprised to see any SANFL supporter writing Port off whilst there is still a reasonable chance of them making the finals.

The Bays do seem to be making a charge at the moment, their next three weeks sees them play the Eagles at Woodville, Panthers at Challenge and Westies at Broadspectrum. Clearly then their hardest game is going to be this weeks against the Eagles. If the Bays win that one there is a good chance they will be playing finals footy this year. I dont think it will be a walk in the park however for Glenelg to beat the Eagles at Woodville though as I think that the Eagles are nothing like done yet.

Tentativley I think that Sturt are likely to be the side that get a crack at Central in the Grand Final which considering they were the side tipped by many for the spoon is remarkable. Considering that they also beaten Central in the 2002 Grand Final would suggest to the players that they can do so again. So at this stage I would say that Central vs Sturt could be how it ends up this year!

Agreed. The Bays have improved markedly as a team, but are still back in the pack when it comes to consistency.

Sturt have played 52 quarters of footy this year and by my count only about 12 of those have been poor. We have also run out games..port at alberton, wwt at woodville (admitedly the horse had bolted), central at unley, even against the Bays we got back to within almost a kick in the last quarter and I think we never deseved to be that close. Central are obviously miles better again in thier consistency.

Despite their good win today Glenelg can't claim the same. They can begin to change that perception over the next few weeks. It would have to start with a win over the Eagles in Round 16.

I'll wait and see what happens and then look at the reasons why before I decide if it's a major failure or not.

Don't want the Sturt supporters thinking finishing 3rd is good enough for them with all the great form they have shown, do we?

haha, atleast rod rooster saw my point.

I 100% agree Purch yes we've played good footy but at no stage this year could we say we've played consistantly good footy.

That is the challenge for us for the rest of the year and until we do that we will just be making up the numbers.

The good thing that came out of yesterday according to some of the respectd poster on SL.org is that we won ugly yesterday. Didn't play good footy but we still won which is a good sign especially condsidering it was game that in the past we would have lost - abit of pressure and we fold - didn't happen yesterday so that is a positive for us.

But back to your original point we need to learn to play consistant footy and it starts this week at Pecker Park..
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!
