I'm guessing it is because you cannot measure the position of something in spacetime without affecting its position in spacetime.Therefore by measuring the distance to your letterbox you have actually altered its position in spacetime.

Does the same thing apply to the points for and against? By adding the 2 columns up we have altered their position in spacetime thereby meaning that the sum of the radius of the mean points will never coincide with pie (22/7) nor will Pythagorus' theorum hold while the individual team points scored measured along the spacetime continuim equal the 4th derivative of the points conceded
Or something like that .....
If you posted that on BigFooty, some of the posters on there would suffer from a mental breakdown trying to work that out!
