Shaun Rehn and South Adelaide

Postby Sojourner » Tue Aug 07, 2007 9:39 pm

(This post is one of mine copied from the Panthers forum).

- I absolutley will not divulge my source on this as he is involved in an opposition SANFL club. Yet I was told on Saturday night that Pyman would be getting the sack from the club and that Shaun Rehn has purchased a house in Flagstaff Hill and would be moving there to take up the job at South Adelaide. I contested this with the individual concerned and stated that the club was behind the coach........

I hope that this is not true because that would be a particulrly dirty underhanded thing to have done to the current coach if that is true. Particulry when we were all sent letters telling us of the clubs support for Pyman.......

I can absolutely guarantee that in the incredibly unikely event that Rehn were to get the gig, there is no way it would be supported unanimously by the Board.

Hooray, so he has been sacked from Brisbane!!! I always thought he was a hack up there, Clarke Keating would make a better ruck coach IMO and he is a local boy up there. :D :D :D :D :D

Interesting how Shaun Rehn has ended up being perceived as a coach after his gun first season

Compared to how quickly assessments are being made on MacGowan in his 1st season

I'm not stirring here! Just an observation on how things can change. I rate Rick as highly as anyone.

I think Rehn was raved about in his first year similar to McGowan, McGowan has not had the decline that Rehn had yet though, and I would suggest unlikely too.

Rehn left a legacy of the wrong kind at WAFC and not only Westie supporters are disinclined to forgive him too easily......

I'm not asking this question in a smart arse manner, but what exactly was his legacy. Not disputing what you're saying, just curious. One criticism of Rehn i read was he didn't recruit in one particular year, but i presume this is not what you're referring to..

News to me, did it happen about the time they made the charge to the eight. NOW THAT would make sense. Hope they delist Cam Wood too. He could join Nathan Brown, Nathan Eagleton, and a "few others" back at the Bloods.

Still listed on their official website as an assistant.

Mind you, that could mean he was sacked 12 months ago given how fast Telstra update those things.

Shaun Rehn.
The man that bought the game plan (or was it Bloods type!) "B Negative" to Westies.

Crikey, if he got the gig I'm afraid Shane Harris would shoot himself!
