I will however point out the at the AGM Andrew Jarman himself set the bar by saying that nothing short of playing off in a Grand Final this year was acceptable. He said this is what he would be judged on. His words not mine.

You said it on here a month or so back .... well almost - you said something like "anything less than a premiership will be a huge under-achievement / disappointment"

But accept your point if Jars said it publicly too

I'll be honest, before round 1, I expected to be attending the GF to watch the Roosters play

But lots of things happen in a season that aren't planned

From my point of view, yes, anything less than a GF berth would be a huge underachievement. If i said Premiership i was going a bit far.

As for if Jars said it well i and all who were at the AGM can vouch for that. If anyone says they were there and says he didn't say that is either lying or deaf.

I was there, and yeah he said it.
Mind you I was also at the club over a year ago when he said he's walk away from the club if we didn't get 3000 members.

What Jars says at times can be taken with a grain of salt, that's Jars.

I wasn't doubting you about that

Actually 'GF berth' rings a bell now - apologies if I misquoted you

although im dissapointed with this season, so far, i belive ANJ is the man to take NA to a Premiership!!! although im young i have seen the like of Mick Nunan D Hart and C McDurmot coach my beloved club and of them all two stand out with similar plans.... ANJ and Mick Nunan!!! both running and attacking and both lookin to score plenty and entertain and nunan won 2 flags.. if another caoch was to come in then fine so be it but as it stands i back jars 95% of the time to pull a rabit from somewhere.. hasnt done it this year so maybe finals time is when he will... lol.. but i think we should give jars at least another 2 years and let him decide his fate with the team he is able to chose for himself...

I think the North board will play it smart even if Jars doesn't get a flag as you just don't dump someone because they've failed to do what they've set out to do, you dump someone if you think there's someone else that can do a better job.

I don't see anyone around that could do a better job at the moment IMHO.

I agree Wedgie and I posted that as an actual topic on the Roost back a few weeks ago but that seemed to get missed amongst some of my other posts by those casting critical eyes about the place?

I agree with you on this. A lot of what is said by ANJ can be taken with a grain of salt and is said more for entertainment value than anything else. At the AGM he was dead serious though. GF was the pass grade he gave himself and that is a fact. As a senoir coach you do not make that statement at a clubs AGM if you are not prepared to stand by it.

In 5 weeks time we'll see. Go the Bays this week :D Then all we have to do is knock off Sturt and we are top 3 and a great chance to get the GF spot.
