Well stripper boy has opened up the Fed's wallets to help bankroll them for 5 years

where does this leave us?? for me it seems a bit too rushed and will turn out a disaster for all involved if we jump into bed with each other too soon

Is it a core or non-core promise....a bit like the Hawke air port termianl promise and railway promise in 1983......

You have to be a longstanding Territorian to get the significance of that statement...

Can just imagine all teh other NT Sports putting their hands out for $2.5 Mill to join a state league, especially when Hockey play in a national comp (AHL) but don't get any federal govt support yet the potential govt is going to support one sport in a state league competition....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

what im worried about is after 5 years funding, it gets cut, if the NT team isn't financial viable, then they'll fall through...

i prefer the "map of tassie"* myself...

The funding is partly for women's sport as well. One of the reasons he is targeting NTAFL is that it is has a high indigenous particpation and offers them a possible step up to a career playing footy.

And it isn't certain that they will join the SANFL they may join the WAFL.

As far as the "what if they go broke?" question - what if Norwood or Sturt go broke? That's more likely just at the moment
