Sturt and North in Round 23 should be on a Friday night!

2 things, apparantley the ABC match next week is Glenelg v Eagles so similar to last year with the Glenelg v South game that game is locked into Saturday afternoon no matter who's playing on the telly.
North are pushing for a Friday night game (announced by James Moore the footbal manager at the club tonight to overwhelming boos) and I'd assume similar to last year when we got the North v Port game moved to the Friday night the same thing will happen this coming weekend.
It will be confirmed by the SANFL at 11am on Monday.

Bugger, it looks like North got their way, would have thought they learnt from last year when we did the same thing.

Im sure the SANFL won't be dumb enough to move a possible Saturday afternoon game to a Friday night.

They tried it last year with the 2nd and 4th team in the competition and got a measley 2,464 to the game.

It rained that night. Wasn't the best night for footy.

Hate to tell ya mate, but there's just as much chance of rain in odd years as there is in even years.
(And there's rain forecase for later this week, less likely on the Sat on Sunday though)
Adelaide Oval has plenty of shelter (for at least 15,000), rain isn't an excuse.
Its just a poor programming experiment that failed but I can understand why the club's involved if given the choice between Frirday night and Sunday would want the extra time off before the final (not that it worked for North last year).
As far as attendances and crowd goes it would be a ridiculous move, but as I said, great for the drunks as the expense of families which is what the SANFL can least afford to do.

True. The thing is though, unless if there is 8,000 on the Friday night, I can't be proven right. And if there is 8,000 on Saturday, you are right. But we can't have two matches in the timeslots to decide it.

But after last year, it wouldn't be a surprise to see another Saturday final for either Crows or Power.
