While I was a big advocate of the Friday Night fixture

Postby spell_check » Sat Sep 08, 2007 12:02 am

I did not realise that there was the Reds first home match this year; and at the time, (but predictably it turned out) that a match would be played at Footy Park at this time.

Obviously it's down to what the clubs think what's best for the players, rather than the SANFL looking at what could be pathetically embarrassing crowds. 7 days is long enough for players to recover, which kind of adds to evidence that the SANFL do not care about crowd figures and the wellbeing of the competition. All matches should have been played on the Sunday; the Sturt/North match could have been played on Saturday Night.

Gosh some people like to whinge about things. Whatever fixture they chose there were going to be people not able to make it for one reason or another. The end figure won't be altered by that much at all and the few that didn't go because of something else happening the clubs probably don't really care too much about.

Whinge? It's called an opinion. You have one. I do. This is a place to voice those opinions.

Yes, you do have an opinion. And stralgely enough that opinion has a "whinge" sound to it. And my opinion is you were having a whinge about the time slot, and as you also pointed out I used this place to voice that opinion.

You are very good at changing subjects of the topics aren't you.

And so what if it is a whinge? Does it make it less important if so?

If this match was played on a Sunday, it would have attracted 5-6000 people. Plus we wouldn't have threads on next weeks game up on a Friday night.

It was Sturt's home game and it was the Red's 20th game of the year, not their first.
We had the name first.

I'm just pissed that Ian Moss only had 10 minutes to play when I got to the Space Theatre from last nights game. Talk about too many things on in one night, at the same time. Had to vent my frustrations on a long walk and a Yiros in Rundle Street instead. I do love going to footy at the Adelaide Oval on a friday night. Can't complain about the catering in the Bradman Stand. Oh and yes it is open to everyone, including Members!
Failure is only the opportunity to begin again more intelligently.
