EAGLES NEWS #8

Postby cd » Thu Sep 27, 2007 2:54 pm

First – training tonight (Thursday 27th.) is at Woodville – All Welcome. Will be an important night as a couple of hopefuls will be put to the test to see if available for selection consideration for Sunday’s game.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL EAGLE MEMBERS - Without me driving everyone nuts we set a new membership record earlier this year when we passed last years record of 2051. As of today we have a total of 2139 members – can we break 2150 for the first time? 11 to go!

Sunday is a big day at the Adelaide Oval with the U17 Grand Final followed by the Reserves Prelim and then the Eagles v Roosters League prelim.
For just $9 adult admission it makes a great day for all.
Best Wishes to the lads from North Adelaide and Port Adelaide Magpies playing in their Grand Final

For all Eagle fans get to the merchandise booth on Sunday to get this year’s free finals give-away.
(2 years ago the Go Eagles posters, last year the Thunder sticks)
2007 collect your free blow-up hand – just show your membership badge or be wearing Eagles gear to claim yours.

Junior Members should have also received their invitation to their free BBQ with the players. If not please call the club to get yours.

Adults not forgotten either – check out these great offers

MEMBERS NIGHT TONIGHT (27/9) - WIN $350
Every Thursday night at the Eagles Club financial members are in the draw to win CASH (must be present to claim). This week the jackpot amount is at $350. Make sure you come down to the Club on Thursday night for your chance to win.

AFL GRAND FINAL at WOODVILLE OVAL CLUBROOMS
Come and watch the Power take on the Cats this Saturday on the big screen at the Club. $2 Schooners from the 1st bounce to the final siren. Raffles and prizes to be won throughout the afternoon! Plus Keno and TAB facilities - Bistro open for $6.50 meals too.

Also coming soon to Woodville Oval clubrooms 8 Ball/Pool Competitions and Saturday Poker games – only Saturday venue around – check out with Nathan at the club for details.

The AFL final will also be on the big screen at our Port Road EAGLES BAR & BISTRO – ALL WELCOME. It is worth checking out the changes at Port Road too – now with Keno and SA Lotteries facilities with an upgrade to the foyer bar area – looks great with more facilities for visitors – a great place for a drink a meal and some gaming fun but please gamble responsibly.

You should have received Ron Fuller’s email if you’ve signed up to our online membership yesterday and tonight will get the squad/team for Sunday emailed to you. Ron’s article makes very interesting point about how well our youngsters have stood up this year and that he expects them to again be very good on Sunday.

It was great to see so many of our Volunteers at our Port Road Bistro the other night when we were able to host them to dinner and give them a small thank you gift for all their work – was a great night – hopefully the boys will give us all another gift this weekend as we repeat last years effort and go to the Grand Final.

EAGLES FANS - GET OUT IN NUMBERS ON SUNDAY – GET YOUR GIANT HAND – SHOW THE COLOURS – WATCH THE EAGLES FLY UP!

Now for just 11 more members – Join at the booth on Sunday if you aren’t already a member for 2008 and get the rest of 2007 free and gain admission to all members only areas back at the club including presentations Sunday night at 6:45pm and hopefully next week too!!

Great article in this morning's Advertiser or on their website regarding Ben Schwarze - check it out - a good read

Hope to see you at the footy - GO EAGS

Thanks for the kind words Wedgie - appreciated.

I didnt list all the volunteer groups in my post so as not to forget anyone but I would like to say a special thanks to the cheer squad for all the run through banners they have made this year and I know have been busy again this week. It was good to have them at the dinner last week so we could say thanks.

Forgot to add - Thank You to all members who have returned their survey to the club. We appreciate the feedback - so far about 400 have responded which is a great return rate to let us know your thoughts. Will collated and feedback via the club and this website.

If you are yet to return your survey there is plenty of time - but do take the time to complete - we honestly want to hear our members views.

Hope to see all Eagles fans at the footy on Sunday - training was very competitive tonight and the boys looked to be in pretty good nick.
