Change of Day for Rd 12 South v Port

Postby Wedgie » Fri Mar 31, 2006 9:56 am

This change of day now ensures the SANFL matches for Round 12 will be played over the Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the AFL free weekend.

Round 12
Date: Sunday 25th June
Match: South Adelaide v Port Adelaide
Venue: Noarlunga Oval
Reserves: Commencing 11.35am
League: Commencing 2.20pm

Probably a good idea to maximise exposure over the AFL free weekend, the full round is now:

ROUND 12
FRIDAY, JUNE 23

Norwood v Eagles, Norwood (night)
Sturt v North Adelaide, Adelaide (night)
SATURDAY, JUNE 24
Glenelg v Central District, Glenelg
SUNDAY, JUNE 25
South Adelaide v Port Adelaide, Noarlunga
West Adelaide – Bye

Ive updated the Fixture to show this, as an article in the Media Guide stated, its probably a good idea for South to play home games on a Sunday to maximise attendance from the locasl. I'll try and drag a couple of southerners to that game.

Using the expressway it'd take 20 mins on a Sunday. Oh the pain! lol
Take the 10 mins off you need to find a close park at most other grounds and its awful!
Train station all of 5 min walk to the ground too.

If that was the idea to maximise attendences that AFL free weekend - then why 2 games on the Friday nigth? They could have moved one to the vacant Saturday night surely?
