I must admit I unloaded on Glenelg at $5 to win the flag before they beat Norwood last week.

Need the AFL to make a decision on their fixture first with both franchises playing away that weekend.

South resign Jarrad Wright for a further two years.

This will make him the longest serving coach that we have ever had.

Not quite. He pays $200 per match and $50 per session for the right.

Not sure how I feel about this. Appears to have done a reasonable job with a pretty thin and very young list this season, at least compared to the extremely poor 2023.

7 years already in the chair though. Might have been time for a change :-?

He's more than Kenough, he's the Wright man for the job?

Terrible decision by the board at South to sign Wright for a further 2 years.

He has been coach for 7 years has missed the finals for the last 3 years and finished 9th last year and probably 9th again this year.

No other club was going to poach Wright from us so why the need to sign him for 2 more years.

The team isn't developing under him just constantly losing and never kick enough goals.

This new board led by Baynes has been a massive disappointment and taken the easy safe decision rather than being bold.

Also what does Reilly contribute to the club or is he just there for a pay check????

I suspect South have the same problem the Bays had not that long ago … finances are tight, the club isn’t an attractive proposition to entice an established coach … so it’s easier to just continue as is and hope that things change.

I tend to agree that it’s not the best way to go.
