Yes- to celebrate a victory from 1834! Yes, they're an exception to the rule, & the Cats have only just introduced theirs in recent times.Dutchy wrote:Saints still have their logo from memory

I was referring to the fact that they didn't have the logos in the same sense as all SANFL clubs have theirs... Also, the St Kilda crest wasn't their logo- I'm talking about the "shields" all clubs used to have- they're the ones that never appeared.Wedgie wrote:Well that's a bit different to "never had club logos on their jumpers"

Yes, it is interesting, as surely they'd get squillions for it? Hand it to the Yanks on that one, preserving the integrity of the uniform.Dutchy wrote:Its interesting that in US sport there is NO advertising on their uniforms at all in any of the major sports, im sure there would have been plenty of pressure for that to change but it hasnt - image the extra cash they could generate if they did, yet still resist

Carlton, yes, St Kilda if it is, it wasn't always- they had the stick figure angel inside the shield with SAINTS above it- all clubs had the same design, much like the SANFL logos were uniform, until Norwood broke ranks (followed by the Dogs...)Dutchy wrote:yep - but is their logo also. Even back inthe 70's I cant remember the teams having anything but the VFL logo

But it's money back in the coffers so what can you do?
Silly to compare the SANFL to American professional sports.
