SA U18s Girls squad finalised for 2025

South Australia has finalised its U18s Girls 30-player squad for the 2025 AFLW National Championships, starting in June.

Former Norwood SANFLW coach Brad Snell will continue his role as head coach, with the Croweaters gearing up to play four championship matches in June and August.

SA will kick off its championship series against Vic Metro in Melbourne on Sunday 22 June, before heading to Perth to take on Western Australia on Sunday 29 June.

The girls will then play back-to-back games in Adelaide, against Queensland on Sunday 3 August and Victoria Country on Sunday 10 August.

Central District and South Adelaide have the equal highest number of players named in the squad (five), followed by Sturt, Norwood and Woodville-West Torrens (four), Glenelg and West Adelaide (three) and North Adelaide with two.

The squad is full of Hostplus SANFLW League rising talent, including Central’s Sophie Eaton, South’s Emma Charlton, Taya Maxwell and Layla Vizgaudis, Sturt’s Monique Bessen and Lily Smart, and Woodville-West Torrens’ Imogen Trengove – all of whom have been named as a SANFLW Powerade Breakthrough Players this year.

Newly-appointed Norwood SANFLW coach Alison Ferrall, Jack Hannath, Craig Lum and former North Adelaide SANFLW player Brianna Arthur have been appointed as assistant coaches.

Round 9 Hostplus SANFLW Match Wraps

Norwood 9.4 (58) d Central District 8.2 (50)
Norwood mounted an incredible comeback to defeat Central District by eight-points in Round 9 of the Hostplus SANFLW League at Coopers Stadium.

Central got off to a quick start, with SANFLW all-time leading goal kicker Katelyn Rosenzweig kicking her first of the day, before SA U18 Girls squad member Tara Lord kicked a quick one to extend the visitors’ lead to 13 points at quarter-time as the Redlegs went scoreless in the first quarter.

Redlegs’ forward Adrienne Davies slotted Norwood’s first for the day after being awarded a free kick, with the Doggies replying quickly via Rosenzweig who scored her second, with Alysha Healy and Lauren Breguet following suit.

Mykaela Walker kicked the home side’s second goal, followed by Norwood youngster Sharmaine Crosby slotting her first goal in the SANFLW.

Central young-gun Sophie Eatom then capped off a big quarter of scoring for both teams with an excellent running goal, with the Doggies taking a 17-point lead into the main break.

Tesharna Maher opened the scoring for the second half, taking Central’s lead out to 23 points, but it was Sarah Branford who started the Redlegs comeback, kicking a set shot to slowly chip away at the margin, before Davis chipped in with her second of the day to get Norwood within two goals at three quarter-time.

With momentum in hand, Norwood’s Walker kicked her second goal, reducing the margin to six points, before Kiana Lee took a strong grab to level the scores six minutes into the final term.

Norwood’s eighth goal of the game came via 17-year-old ruck Kate Alexander, who was on the receiving end of a handball from Davies, extending the Redlegs lead slightly. Amelia Rusden then kicked her first of the day to put the icing on the cake for the Redlegs in new coach Alison Ferrall’s first game at the helm.

Central’s Karissa Searle kicked a late goal but it was all but over for the Doggies, who have now lost two-in-a-row.

Norwood’s Jade Halfpenny was everywhere in her side’s comeback victory, notching up 21 disposals, 11 tackles and five clearances. Walker (13 disposals, two goals), Amelia Rusden (five tackles, five clearances and six inside 50s) and Davies (11 disposals, two goals) were also instrumental in the Redlegs’ third win of the season.

Madison Lane (26 disposals, six tackles, four clearances) was prolific for the Doggies, with Maher (23 disposals, one goal, six clearances), Jovanka Zecevic (12 disposals and nine tackles) and Miyu Endersby (33 hitouts) all excellent for the visitors in a tight loss.

Next up, Norwood will head to Hisense Stadium to take on West Adelaide on Saturday, while Central District face Sturt at Thomas Farms Oval.


Sturt 0.7 (7) lost to North Adelaide 5.7 (37)
North Adelaide produced a strong five-goal win over Sturt at Thomas Farms Oval.

In a bitterly disappointing outing for the Double Blues, the Roosters kept the home side goalless across four quarters.

North got off to a hot start, with Aprille Crooks kicking the opening goal in under 30 seconds, with no major scores coming the way of either team for the rest of the quarter.

Sturt was its own worst enemy in the second quarter, kicking five behinds in a row, before North captain Amber Ward broke the goal drought, taking a strong grab in a pack right in front of goal, to give the Roosters an eight-point buffer heading into half-time.

The third quarter saw North continue to dominate on the scoreboard, as Julia Clark kicked truly to extend the lead for North, with Sturt struggling to capitalise on its clearances, recording double that of the eventual winners.

Sasha Hardin followed up with her first goal in the SANFLW, before Ward sent the ball inside North’s forward 50 to a lone Sky Jensen, who ran onto it and kicked a brilliant running goal, giving North Adelaide a 28-point lead at three quarter-time.

A stagnant final quarter saw neither team kick any major scores, with North continuing its winning streak to run out five-goal winners.

Jamie Parish (25 disposals, six marks), Ella Metcalfe (19 disposals, nine marks, three tackles), Zara Molloy (12 tackles, three clearances) and Djimila Totham (17 disposals, eight tackles, five clearances and four inside 50s) were all excellent for the Roosters.

Sturt’s Monique Bessen had a game-high 27 disposals to go along with her nine tackles and six clearances, with Isobel Kuiper putting on a clinic with 15 disposals, six tackles, 11 clearances and five inside 50s. Georgia Swan did everything she could to keep her Double Blues in the game, with 18 disposals, four clearances and six inside 50s.

North Adelaide will host the previously unbeaten Woodville-West Torrens this Saturday, with Sturt taking on Central District at Thomas Farms Oval.


Woodville-West Torrens 4.5 (29) lost to South Adelaide 5.3 (33)
Woodville-West Torrens’ unbeaten run has come to an end at the hands of South Adelaide, who defeated the Eagles by four points at Maughan Thiem Kia Oval.

South got off to a flying start, kicking its total score for the day in the first quarter, with the first goal coming via forward Lucy Northcott, before SA U18 Girls squad member Lily Baxter took a strong grab and went on to kick a phenomenal running goal from a tight angle.

The goals kept coming for the Panthers, this time from Shae Archbold, Emily Brockhurst and Laquoiya Cockatoo-Motlap, with South taking a 33-point lead into quarter-time as the Eagles went scoreless in a quarter for the first time this year.

Eagles’ gun Christina Leuzzi got things going for the home side in the second quarter, converting her set shot to give Woodville-West Torrens the goal they desperately needed. Former AFLW player McKenzie Dowrick kicked truly to give the Eagles their second of the day as they slowly started to chip away at South’s lead.

The Panthers went scoreless in the second quarter but still took a 19-point lead into half-time.

Neither team hit the scoreboard in the third quarter, with Rosette Zerella finally finding the goals three minutes into the fourth quarter to breath some life into the top-of-the-table clash.

Olivia Evans followed suit with her first goal of the day, but it was not enough to get the Eagles their ninth win in a row, as they now have the same win-loss record (8-1) as South Adelaide.

Panthers’ young-gun Layla Vizgaudis was excellent for the visitors with 18 disposals, six tackles and four clearances, along with Soriah Moon (25 hit outs, six clearances, 10 tackles), Caitlin Couch (14 disposals, six tackles, four inside 50s) and Melissa Anderson (10 tackles).

Ruck Leah Cutting continued her excellent form for Woodville-West Torrens with 26 hit outs, 10 tackles and six clearances. She was well supported around the ground by Lucy Moore (24 disposals, eight tackles, six clearances), Leuzzi (22 disposals, nine tackles, eight clearances, one goal) and Maia Freemantle (21 disposals, six tackles, three marks).

The Eagles will head to Prospect to face red-hot North Adelaide on Saturday, with South Adelaide returning to Magain Stadium to host Glenelg.


Glenelg 1.4 (10) lost to West Adelaide 4.9 (33)
West Adelaide has continued its rise up the ladder, defeating Glenelg by 23 points at Stratarama Stadium.

The Bloods got off to a quick start, as Lucy Waye found the goals to get the visitors on the board in the first quarter in under a minute. Riverland product Georgie Pater then kicked Westies’ second of the match from 25m out, to give her side a 10-point lead at the first break.

A slow second quarter from both teams saw no major score registered for either team, with Westies taking a 13-point lead into the main break.

Westies’ stalwart Nicole Hooper got things going again in the third quarter, as Glenelg struggled to capitalise on its inside 50s, recording 35 to West Adelaide’s 29. Hooper’s goal was the only one scored for the quarter, with Glenelg still yet to convert.

Debutant Sarah Deed scored her first goal for West after receiving a free kick, kicking a set shot to extend Westies’ lead to 26 points at the start of the fourth quarter.

The Tigers scored their first for the game 18 minutes into the final term, with Charlotte O’Sullivan converting in a tough game for her team, which remains at the bottom of the ladder.

SANFLW superstar Zoe Venning had another mammoth game, gathering 34 disposals, five marks and four clearances, with her team now sitting just outside the top four.

Hannah Button (19 disposals, nine tackles, five clearances), Lucy Waye (19 disposals, four tackles), Chloe Tonkin (20 hit outs) and Ruby Ballard (18 disposals, four tackles, five clearances) were also instrumental in the Bloods’ third win of the season.

Jessica Bates, Tessa Davis and Asha Dufour all notched up 26 disposals for the Tigers, with Dufour also recording a game-high nine clearances against her old side.

The Tigers will head south this Saturday to face South Adelaide, whilst West Adelaide will take on Norwood at Hisense Stadium.

West Adelaide 5.4 (34) d Norwood 5.3 (33)
A timely behind from West Adelade’s Zoe Venning saw the Bloods run out one-point victors against Norwood at Hisense Stadium in the club’s 100th Hostplus SANFLW League game.

Youngster Chelsea Newitt got the scoring underway for West, kicking from directly in front to slot her first of the day.

The Redlegs responded just over five minutes later via Kiana Lee who took a mark in the square and quickly chipped it through for Norwood’s first of the day.

Ruby Ballard showed her strength, breaking through the pack for Westies’ second goal of the game, with the home side taking a one-goal lead into quarter time.

Norwood forward Adrienne Davies made the most of a free kick, kicking her first of the day as the visitors got back within one point of West before Chloe Tonkin found the goals to bring the margin back to seven points for Westies, who headed into the main break with a five-point lead.

Last week’s AAMI Rookie Sarah Deed continued her great start to her SANFLW career, kicking her first of the day at the beginning of the third quarter.

Norwood continued to claw their way back into the game, with back-to-back goals from Lee, SA U18 Girls squad member Charli Hazelhurst and 16-year-old Sharmaine Crosby, wrestling back the lead and heading into three quarter-time with a seven-point lead.

The stage was set for a massive final quarter for both teams, with West’s Hannah Button missing a shot on goal to record a point, before Goodwood Saints product Lucy Waye kicked truly to level scores at the seven-minute mark.

All signs were pointing toward a draw, but a handy point from Venning nearing the 16-minute mark of the final quarter gave West a thrilling one-point victory in its milestone match.

Venning (27 disposals, four tackles, seven clearances) was superb for the Bloods and was well supported by Button (21 disposals, nine tackles, 10 clearances), Waye (21 disposals, five marks, six tackles, seven clearances) and the milestone woman, captain Madi Russell (13 disposals, five tackles) who notched up her 50th game.

Redlegs defender Georgie Jacques (16 disposals, seven marks, five tackles) was excellent in a tight loss. Jade Halfpenny (17 disposals, five tackles, five clearances) and Candice Belbin (13 disposals, seven tackles, six clearances) also performed well.

West will head south to take on the Panthers at Magain Stadium this Saturday afternoon, with Norwood facing Sturt on the King’s Birthday at Thomas Farms Oval.


North Adelaide 4.5 (39) lost to Woodville-West Torrens 5.5 (35)
A strong third quarter from Woodville-West Torrens ensured it would defeat North Adelaide by six points at Prospect Oval.

After having Laela Ebert selected by Melbourne’s AFLW team earlier in the week, North got off to a strong start via captain Amber Ward who took a strong overhead grab to go back and slot the Roosters’ first goal of the game.

It wasn’t long before the Eagles got one on the board, as Klaudia O’Neill kicked her first for the day to level the scores.

The Roosters responded almost instantly, as Sky Jensen chipped one through to give the home side a seven-point lead at quarter-time.

A slow second quarter, which saw both teams kick one point each, provided the Roosters with a seven-point lead going into the main break, before the Eagles reminded everyone why they are the team to beat.

Three goals in succession from McKenzie Dowrick (two goals) and debutant Alice Tentye within the first 10 minutes of the third quarter gave the Eagles their first lead of the day.

Jensen kicked a quick goal to get North back within four points at three quarter-time, with the Eagles continuing the hunt for their ninth win of the season.

The visitors continued to capitalise on their inside 50s (33-22) as O’Neill kicked her second of the day early in the fourth quarter.

Former Eagle turned Rooster Jamie Parrish went back to kick her first for the day to breathe some fire for North, who found themselves seven points down midway through the last term.

Jensen had a chance to put North within one point late, but was hunted down by Eagles’ Bianca Portaro – Jensen only recording a point, with the final margin 29 to 35.

Lucy Moore (23 disposals, 12 tackles, 11 clearances), Imogen Trengove (27 disposals, 11 tackles, six clearances), Leah Cutting (40 hitouts, five tackles) and Maia Freemantle (nine tackles, six clearances, three inside 50s) were all prolific in their teams’ return to the winners list.

North defender Ella Metcalfe was her side’s best with 15 disposals and 11 marks. She was well supported by Djimila Totham (21 disposals, seven tackles, seven clearances), Polly Turner (16 disposals) and Julia Clark (14 disposals, 10 tackles, four clearances).

The Eagles will travel to X Convenience Oval to take on Central District this Saturday, while North will face Glenelg at Stratarama Stadium.


South Adelaide 8.5 (53) d Glenelg 4.6 (30)
South Adelaide recorded its eighth win in a row with a 23-point victory over Glenelg at Magain Stadium.

The Tigers got off to a hot start via SA U18s squad member Eloise Mackereth, before Cassie McWilliam kicked her first Hostplus SANFLW League goal to give the visitors an early 12-point lead.

South got on the board late in the first quarter, with Melissa Anderson going back to slot her first, the Tigers taking a slight six-point lead into the first break.

Emily Brockhusrt started the onslaught of second-quarter goals for the Panthers, before forward Shae Archbold scored back-to-back goals. Victor Harbor product Lily Baxter then kicked her first of the day, with Archbold kicking her third late in the second term to give the home side a comfortable 27-point lead heading into half-time.

It was a stagnant start to the third quarter before Glenelg’s Elizabeth Johnson took a strong mark and calmly went back and slotted her first Hostplus SANFLW League goal, her teammates mobbing the 18-year-old in celebration.

The Panthers quickly got one back – courtesy of an excellent running goal from Brockhurst – taking a 23-point lead into three-quarter time.

Another slow start to the final quarter, it was Mackereth who broke the goal drought, showing poise to kick her second to reduce the margin slowly.

However, it was short-lived as South Adelaide debutant Tabitha Prosser kicked her first Hostplus SANFLW League goal and was engulfed by her teammates, sealing the deal for the home side.

Caitlin Couch was everywhere for the home side, notching up 20 disposals to go along with her seven tackles, six marks and four clearances.

Soriah Moon (20 disposals, 25 hitouts, eight clearances, seven tackles) dominated in the ruck, South recording a whopping 27 more hitouts than its opponents.

Emma Charlton (17 disposals, six tackles) and Anderson (14 disposals, six inside 50s) were also all instrumental in South’s ninth win of the season.

Glenelg superstar Jessica Bates (30 disposals, 13 tackles, eight clearances) was prolific for the Tigers, with Georgie Fielder (27 disposals, four tackles, five clearances), Asha Dufour (24 disposals, eight marks, five inside 50s) and Marie Martino (20 disposals) doing everything they could to give Glenelg its second win of the season.

The King’s Birthday long weekend will see South Adelaide host the rising West Adelaide at Magain Stadium on Saturday afternoon, with Glenelg taking on North Adelaide at Statarama Stadium on Sunday evening.


Sturt 6.12 (48) d Central District 6.8 (44)
Sturt held on to record a four-point victory against Central District at Thomas Farms Oval.

The visitors got out to an unbelievably quick start, with Dakota Williams kicking the first goal in 24 seconds before Sturt’s Amy Brooks-Birve went back and slotted the Double Blues’ first of the match.

Doggies’ forward Lauren Breguet kicked her first of the day, the visitors taking a three-point lead into quarter-time.

Back-to-back goals from the Double Blues, courtesy of Georgia King and youngster Monique Bessen, began to make things interesting with the lead changing hands several times throughout the match.

SANFLW stalwart Tesharna Maher found the goals for Central District to bring the margin back to one point, however, it wasn’t long before Sturt’s Georgia Swan kicked a monster goal, notching up her first of the 2025 season.

It was Central’s Jovanka Zecevic who opened the scoring for the second term, as Alysha Healy kicked the Doggies’ fifth of the day to give the visitors the lead, heading into three quarter-time with a one-goal break.

After a couple of missed shots on goal, Sturt dug deep via Brooks-Birve and Bessen who both kicked their second of the day to wrestle back the lead.

Katelyn Rosenzweig went back and slotted her first of the day midway through the final term, but the Double Blues held on to record their fifth win of the season, with Central now sitting three wins outside the top four.

Bessen continued her stellar form for the Double Blues with 24 disposals, two goals, five marks and six tackles. The AFLW Draft hopeful was well supported by Swan (22 disposals, one goal, four tackles, four clearances) and Isobel Kuiper (14 disposals, eight tackles, six clearances).

SA U18 Girls squad member Miyu Endersby (17 disposals, four marks, four clearances), Taliyah Uncle (six tackles), Williams (16 disposals, six clearances, six inside 50s) and Madison Lane (15 disposals, seven tackles) all performed well in a disappointing loss for Central.

The Doggies will host ladder-leaders Woodville-West Torrens at X Convenience Oval on Saturday afternoon, while Sturt will clash with Norwood on the King’s Birthday public holiday at Thomas Farms Oval.

Central District 1.5 (11) lost to Woodville-West Torrens 6.8 (44)
Woodville-West Torrens has recorded a comfortable 33-point win over Central District at X Convenience Oval in tough conditions.

In what was possibly some of the worst playing conditions South Australia has seen all year, it was all Eagles on Saturday afternoon, with the Doggies never really getting a look in.

The visitors got off to a hot start via Olivia Evans who kicked the first major of the day from directly in front of goal, with Woodville-West Torrens taking a seven-point lead into quarter time.

It did not take long for the ladder leaders to get the goals going again in the second quarter, as Christina Leuzzi kicked the Eagle’s second of the day before Klaudia O’Neill took a strong grab in blistering conditions to kick her first.

Second-gamer Alice Tentye then kicked her first of the day – the Eagles taking a 26-point lead into half-time – with Central District unable to record a single score in the second term.

Conditions eased up for the second half, the Eagles taking advantage of the break in weather to kick their fifth unanswered goal of the day, via the way of Ashley Baker who marked the ball just outside the square, running on to quickly convert and give her side a 33-point lead at three-quarter time.

It was a tough day at the office for Central District, with the home side unable to kick a goal until the final term, courtesy of Alysha Healey – the forward taking a strong grab in front of goal, kicking her team’s only goal of the day.

O’Neill responded 10 minutes later to kick her second of the day, as the Eagles continued their run to their first SANFLW finals series ever.

Lucy Moore was best on for the Eagles, notching up 22 disposals, nine tackles and three clearances.

The 17-year-old was well supported by Maia Freemantle (21 disposals, eight tackles, seven clearances), Leah Cutting (41 hitouts, 18 disposals, six tackles) and O’Neill (two goals).

Madison Lane (17 disposals, three tackles), Tashayla Corfield (12 disposals, five tackles), Holly Tralaggan (eight tackles) and Dakota Williams (12 disposals, 10 tackles, sic clearances) all performed well in a tough day for the Doggies.

Central District will take on North Adelaide on Saturday, 21 June, whilst Woodville-West Torrens will host West Adelaide, with the SANFLW having a bye round this weekend.


South Adelaide 2.4 (16) d West Adelaide 0.2 (2)
South Adelaide has recorded a gusty 14-point win over West Adelaide at Magain Stadium.

It was a tough day for both sides, with neither side recording a major score until the third quarter.

South took a one-point lead into the main break after both teams went scoreless in the first quarter, with Westies going scoreless in the second.

It was South’s Lucy Northcott who broke the goal drought, kicking truly from directly out in front to breathe some life into the game.

Shae Archbold kicked the second goal of the game, soccering it off the ground late in the final term to give South a 14-point victory in difficult conditions.

South Adelaide’s Soriah Moon continued her stellar 2025 season with 22 disposals, seven tackles, 10 clearances and a phenomenal 44 hitouts.

Caitlin Crouch (16 disposals, 16 tackles, six clearances), Melissa Anderson (13 tackles) and Archbold (one goal, 12 tackles) were all excellent for the Panthers, as the home side dominated across the ground, recording 13 more inside 50s and seven more clearances than West Adelaide.

Ruby Ballard (19 disposals, 11 tackles, six clearances), Emily Mableson (19 disposals, six tackles), Hannah Button (24 tackles) and Madi Russell (seven tackles) were prolific with their pressure in a tough day for West Adelaide.

Westies will head to Woodville-West Torrens to take on the Eagles on Saturday, 21 June, whilst South Adelaide will make a trip to The Parade to tackle Norwood on Sunday, 22 June.


Glenelg 1.3 (9) lost to North Adelaide 3.4 (22)
North Adelaide has continued its rise up the ladder, defeating Glenelg by 13-points at Stratarama Stadium.

It was a slow start for both teams, with the first goal coming from North Adelaide debutant Abbie Player fifteen minutes into the first quarter – the Roosters taking a one-goal lead into quarter time.

No major score was recorded in the second quarter, with North Adelaide registering one behind, the visitors going into the main break with a seven-point buffer on the Tigers.

Ashleigh George opened the scoring for the second half – taking a strong grab before going back to calmly slot the Roosters’ second of the day.

It was not long before North kicked their third of the day, this time via the way of Sky Jensen who extended the Roosters’ lead 18-points at three-quarter time.

Glenelg eventually got on the board in the final term, with Asha Dufour kicking her side’s lone goal, chipping one through to reduce the final margin back to 13-points – Glenelg still searching for its second win of the season.

Jamie Parish (22 disposals), Anja Bancevic (43 hitouts), Polly Turner (21 disposals, five tackles) and George (19 disposals, eight tackles, one goal) were all excellent for North in a gritty win at The Bay.

Glenelg superstar Jess Bates had 33 disposals, 11 tackles, eight clearances, with Marie Martino (27 disposals, six clearances), Dufour (24 disposals, seven marks) and SA U18 Girls squad member Georgie Fielder (22 disposals, six tackles, six clearances) the best performers for the Tigers.

North Adelaide will head to Elizabeth to take on Central District on Sunday, 21 June, with the Tigers hosting Sturt on Sunday, 22 June.

Norwood has had a huge 34-point win over Sturt at Thomas Farms Oval.

It was all Redlegs on Monday afternoon, as the visitors kicked five unanswered goals, to the Double Blues one point.

Adrienne Davies got the visitors off to a flying start, kicking truly to put through her first of the day, which was followed up by Sharmaine Crosby, the 16-year-old calmly going back and kicking truly to give Norwood a two-goal lead at quarter time.

A quiet second quarter saw only three rushed behind recorded, including Sturt’s only score for the day, giving the Redlegs a 13-point buffer heading into the main break.

It was a similar story in the third quarter, with no majors recorded for either team, with Norwood taking a 15-point break heading into the final term.

The Redlegs switched on to kick back-to-back-to-back goals in the fourth quarter, the first coming from Kiana Lee, who notched up her 13th goal of the season so far.

Candice Belbin kicked her first for the season shortly after, before former AFLW player Jade Halfpenny capped off a huge day for Norwood with her first of the day, and first of the season.

It was a tough day for Sturt, who recorded 13 more clearances than Norwood but could not translate that to inside 5o entries – the Redlegs notching up 51 inside 50s to Sturt’s eight.

Charlee Brooksby (14 disposals, two tackles), Halfpenny (12 disposals, 10 tackles, one goal), Lee (one goal, four marks, eight tackles) and Kate Alexander (32 hitouts) were all among Norwood’s best in one of their strongest displays of the season.

Isobel Kuiper (26 disposals, 13 clearances, five tackles) put on a clinic for the Double Blues, with Georgia Swan (20 disposals, six tackles) and Mille McCarthy (25 hitouts, five tackles) strong in a difficult day for Sturt.

Sturt will head to Stratarama Stadium to clash with Glenelg on Sunday, June 22, whilst Norwood will host South Adelaide.

2025 SA U18 Girls Leadership Group Announced


Woodville-West Torrens’ Imogen Trengove will captain the SA U18 Girls team for the 2025 Marsh AFLW National Championships.

The well-balanced versatile utility has been averaging 17.3 disposals, 4.7 tackles, 4.9 inside 50s and 1.6 clearances for the Eagles in the Hostplus SANFLW League this season.

Trengove will be joined by vice-captain, Sturt’s Sophie Thredgold, the hybrid midfielder/defender making her second appearance in the SA U18 Girls squad – along with Trengove – after the pair were bottom-agers in last year’s championship series.

Rising South Adelaide star Taya Maxwell has been named as an emerging leader, with the 16-year-old averaging 15.7 disposals, three marks, 4.7 clearances and 3.9 inside 50s in the SANFLW this season.

The Croweaters – coached by Brad Snell – will kick off their championship series on Sunday 22 June, against Victoria Metro at RSEA Park in Melbourne.

The girls will then head to Western Australia to take on WA on Sunday 29 June, at Revo Fitness Stadium, before hosting Queensland (Sunday August 3) and Victoria Country (Sunday August 10).
