I still think Reeves signing his contract is extension weeks before signing with power cost the bays Bassett.

A Nathan Bassett coached Glenelg would be a scarier proposition than Doc IMHO.

Bassett is the best thing to happen to West in years. IF he stays the 5 years he will turn them around

Bass is as arrogant as anyone could be, but that said, I hope he does great at West and wish him all the best.

Glad he’s nowhere near the Bays.

Wasn’t Reeves an assistant/reserves coach at North?. I could be wrong.

He has the cattle so he’ll go well.

Why didn't Hartlett get the job at the Bays?
Is he staying on in any capacity?

I thought up until recently that Clarke did a role at Adelaide with the AFL side in the AFLW off season

Can’t argue re: arrogance but he has a great coaching record.

I’ve heard West head of footy has quit this week

Positive for West: I’m hearing approval for the grant in December is looking good

Six figures to coach SFL???
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

100%

He won 3 flags for the Legs, 2 as direct coach and the 3rd with Ben Warren using his game plan … you can’t fluke that.

I think any SANFL club would welcome Bass
His perceived arrogance should not be confused at times with his forthright views
He speaks his mind

Having sat in a Monday morning review session after a Norwood game, I could see just how intense and intelligent the gr8 man is

Im predicting his stint at WAFC will be a turning point in the club
Im very confident he will improve the team and the club

One team has to finish bottom. If Westies improves, which team end up wooden spooners?

Again, wish West all the best but hiring a good coach isn’t going to turn around the club, but at least it’s a start.

As has been discussed extensively here, there are a host of issues at West that need addressing for the club to be sustainable and succeed.
