crowd guesses for the bay sunday ?

Looks like Dogger with 4700 takes the bacon and Dasher with 4500 the eggs. Official crowd 4600 odd.

I must admit my call of 2700 bays and 2000 north was more like 3500 bays and 800 north.

What an amazing home bandwaggon those bays posses.

"Baby on board". Why dont you put a sign on ur car saying "adult on board" or "car stereo in use"?

Crows was surreal today.
Both the Snouts and the Grogs were drowned out by 100s of people I'd never seen at a game before.
I haven't seen a crowd like that at the Bay since pre Crows days.

might have been some bandwagoner's but hey its better than playing in front of 1500 and they saw a good game, good chance some bandwagoners will stick - all games this weekend were high scoring which is great to see also, compared to the elite comp...

Don't get me wrong, I hope many bandwagonners get to games as possible, a lot of it could be the Sunday game too, the Bays in recent years have got better crowds on Sunday.
Was definately a change on last year, where there was the Snouts, me and a dozen mates and the Grogs, I could walk straight to the bar or straight to the toilet, today it was a bloody ordeal to do either!

WOW!

I'd be interested on a Bays fans opinion of when the last time there was a crowd like that.

All 2500 North fans I expected rocked up but I wouldn't have been suprised if we were outnumbered today, and that's probably only one of about 3 or 4 times I can honestly state that in the last 3 years.

Yeah it was amazing. We were packed in on the hill... im glad i wasnt allowed to drink today because the lineup was huge... i went to the canteen and that had a huge queue too so i didnt bother. It would be nice if all the peopled who turned up today came back for the next game but thats doubtful.

Surely Glenelg will have more turn up at Prospect for Round 13 than they had last year at the same ground...

i think you got your numbers mixed up dc told borat & i it was 5225 & to answer the earlier ? of when the last time a crowd was like that at glenelg it was against central last year the official would've been around 2,000 but when the bays were well in front they came from everywhere after half time & it would've been a fraction bigger than it was today, i know fair weather supporters wedgie
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Great crowd for Sunday Bloody Sunday. West End ran out yet again after lining up 10 or more deep at the caravan then having to wait in line for the toilet, I say less crowds the better. :) No really a good turn out - not the result I wanted though. Congratulations to Norf, definate premiership contender.

I haven't seen a crowd at Glenelg like that since our "homecoming" in 1992 against South. We may have got a higher crowd figure for a Port game in the Hodgy/Choco era but it won't have been much bigger.

Great day, I hope many returning Bay fans have caught the bug and want to get back on board, the more on teh wagon the better I say....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Was that the game Roger Pickard put up $10 000 winner take all? Cue Spell Check....

IIRC that was Seebs testimonial game too..

He got knocked out (legitimally I think but can't be sure against those mongrels) in the 2nd quarter....

FWIW I was at Alberton for the 17s and 19s that game so I didn't see the crowd, we lost too....

I don't know if there was money up for grabs, but when it is it's a good promotional tool - i.e. the Norwood/Sturt game in 2001 combined with Sturts' 100 year celebrations = 13,745 people.

The two games you speak of are:

Round 7 1993
Port 4.2 11.11 17.12 23.16 (154)
Glenelg 3.7 3.11 10.15 15.19 (109)
Glenelg, 9967

Round 16 1993
Glenelg 7.2 14.3 21.4 26.9 (165)
Port 2.3 4.9 5.12 11.15 (81)
Alberton, 7950
