Round 6 1983
Torrens 0.4 8.8 10.8 23.11 (149)
Glenelg 5.6 8.9 14.13 15.16 (106)

All of these were in the last quarter

Central 16.0 to North 2.1 Round 1 2003
Glenelg 15.6 to Central 1.6 Round 17 1975
West 14.10 to North 1.1 Round 17 1940
Port 14.2 to South 0.0 Round 16 1988
Glenelg 13.6 to Norwood 1.3 Round 20 1969

There are a few others as well, but thats some of them.

That was it Spell ,we played like crap in the first 1/4 then caught up they kicked on and then the Coach (may have been Elliot or Weston my memory is fading in that part )put stephen Carter (recruited from woodville I think) and Kevin Hill (seconds medal winner)two aboringinal players on the half forward line and i kid you not they mustve spoken there own lingo or something but they owned that 1/4 those 2 guys owned Glenelg they could not stop them it was fantastic to watch . :D
13 goals in a quarter fantastic not sure what happened in the games after that .

And he was reinstated the morning before the game I think!!

CP I reckon Ive seen Norwood over run my old eagles ,Torrens pretty sure they were up by 10 at 3/4 time and lost at thebby .
And Drebin and wedgie maybe to young to remember the game in the budget at prospect between Torrens and north I listerned on the radio was too young to go alone I think.

Remember that game at Alberton well.

The hapless Panthers bolted out to a five-goal lead.

Apparently one of the local stations sent a camera crew to Alberton sensing the upset of the year.

But then Port outscored South 34 goals to 5 over the rest of the match (it was something stupid like that anyway - cue spelly!)

mickyj - I think that was 76 from memory but I don't think we kicked more than 10 but could be wrong - it was 30 years ago but it was the best comeback I have seen from a North side. At one stage we were 10 goals down in the third or at 3/4 time and won by 7 points so we may have kicked 12 in the last? I think that match was mentioned in the Footy Budget "flashbacks" section last week.

Leaping Lindner will know for sure - he was there and he has a photographic memory for all things North.

Sadly the memory of Centrals kicking 16 straight in the last against us in the opening round of 2003 is more vivid :(

This North/Torrens game was something Dad on a few occasions told me about. He said to someone in the bar at half time that "they (Torrens) shouldn't lose from here" or something like that, and of course, they did. So when I got around to the score at the library I knew it would have been that game. And of course it was in last weeks' Football Budget.

Round 4 1976
North 4.5 7.7 11.13 21.18 (144)
Torrens 6.3 16.8 18.10 21.11 (137)
Prospect, 5488

The margin was 60 points not long before half time - 6.7 to 16.7. With 20 minutes to go in the last quarter, North was 7.4 behind.
55 points still stands as the record for the greatest comeback after half time, and 39 points is the equal fifth greatest margin overcome after 3 quarter time.

The other equal fifth greatest comeback at 3 quarter time was the match Mickyj would be referring to.

Round 16 1984
Norwood 2.6 4.12 6.15 15.18 (108)
Torrens 5.4 9.7 13.12 15.12 (102)
Thebarton, 6451

Unfortunately I also remember when Centrals kicked 16.0
I think we were only 4 or so goals down at the last change, and it looked like we might have a good season. Banger did kick another freakish goal from the pocket though.

Is the record comeback at three-quarter time Port storming home from 45 points down against Central, 1981?

If you want to count Escort Cup then the Bays came back from a 3/4 time deficit of 10 goals against the Blues in 1986.

No. I think this may be the game you are taling about, but they were only 26 points down at 3 quarter time.

Round 5 1981
Port 0.5 3.8 9.10 14.18 (102)
Central 7.5 9.8 13.12 14.12 (96)
Football Park, 17416

The 42 points at quarter time is the equal 12th biggest comeback from there.
The 36 points at half time is the equal 15th biggest comeback from there.

The biggest come back from 3 quarter time is 47 points.

Round 17 1930
Port 1.3 5.6 7.9 16.12 (108)
Norwood 7.6 11.9 14.14 15.17 (107)
Alberton, N/A
