There was no fracas until he did that. Which online fans want Sticks gone anyway? That's just muckraking, especially ironic considering the thread Fuller hangs by. Questioning your coaches' decisions does not equate to a sacking

From my vantage point in the grandstand he did approach the team ,but I will stand corrected
And if the online fans arent sturt and eagles fans calling for the coaches of both teams to get the sack who's fans are they ? I for one as an eagle fan am not calling for Fuller to get the sack , there is a thread here and at Footysa talking about both of them !!

Can you point me towards these threads? I've seen threads about Fuller but I can only see someone called Localwatchdog who in his first post is calling for Sticks' head. Anyone who bags Sticks on db.org generally gets sent away with their tail between their legs...though there has been a bit more dissent creeping in of late which is not unusual when you're scraping the bottom of the barrel as we are.

Fair enough then its just muck raking from other teams fans .
But is it within the rules for a coach to aapraoch the umpires I thought the rules were changed for the captian only to approach the umpires .

Eagles vs Sturt

Postby sturtpeter » Sun May 14, 2006 12:59 pm

I was the person who initiated the thread on FootySa.com,

"Which Coaches have run their race."

I don't think Brenton has run his race.

He was standing at the Sturt Players' Race watching with interest the progress of several players in the Reserves.

He's a loyal, passionate person, a good communicator who has remarkably kept Sturt a force in our Comp until Financial strains have made this year's season almost impossible.

Brodie's not ready to Coach at Senior level yet and I hope "Sticks" is around to taste the sweet success we're going to enjoy once our Venues are up and running and we're in a position to recruit the cream of the crop not second rate players.

To all Eagles Supporters who don't think they obtained a dream run yesterday from the men in white, sorry but you're living in Fairyland.
Avid Sturt supporter and SANFL fanatic.

Even if you did get a better run with the umps than you did sturtpeter, it wouldn't have made a difference in the final result. Just sounds like another sturt fan with a case of sour grapes because his side has just copped another hiding at the hands of the Eags. It happens all the time now sturtpeter I thought you'd be use to getting belted by us. By the way I do remember several instances in the 1st qtr when ben nelson was doing everything but molesting mark passador but still no free kick come. So your not the only team that was hard done by. Stop your whinging, build a bridge and get over it. Start celebrating that spoon it's coming your way this season.

A little bit harsh eaglehaslanded, as Sturt would be favourites for 8th, not 9th.

I presonally don't think the umpires would go out to favour one team, but when Phillips had a go at them at half time, they might have changed thier minds a bit and give the benefit of doubt to the Eagles players. The umpires are surely not responsible for all of the 71 points.

On the Sunday show, which is being repeated at 9pm Monday nights, Ron Fuller gives his views on this match, plus we touch on this half time incident.

WOO HOO what a good win.
It is my understanding, that no official or player can go up to an umpire and talk about what the umpires have done during the game. I reckon that the SANFL might be having a small talk with B Philips about why he went to the umpires at 1/2 time.

Hurley picks up 32 possessions and not in best players in a losing side (kicked 2 goals as well)!!!! I'm presuming he wasted a lot of them.

Hurley was one of the Blues best for mine, he burned a bit of the ball but was certainly a notable contributor. Pacy and can get the hardball as well as being a link man. However 32 touches surprises me, I didn't see that many.
