BEST QUOTE YOU HAVE HEARD AT THE FOOTY

Postby Jimmy » Wed May 24, 2006 2:40 am

going from wedgies post about stupid comments, lets hear some classic ones from the SANFL or any footy match...We did this on FSA not long back, but thought it would be good here too...

I heard one at the dogs port game last yr, rd 1...i know a few here heard it and it stands out as the best comment from the crowd i have ever heard and had everyone in stitches..the guy who received it is probably in therapy still

It was something like this...

Port fan to a Dogs fan: "You better get home before sun down or you might turn into a human"

  =D>

Heard a disgruntled Norwood fan ask Mark Ducker (I think his 1st name was mark) - "Do You Sleep with the light on Ducker !!" after he shirked a body clash. Even the Norwood faithfull had a laugh that day.

Ducker went on and kicked a lazy 6 or 7 though.

Was it Ducker or Drucker?? Not the biggest body I've ever seen in league football and he had absolutley no idea of how to protect himself when he did go for the ball. I remember him getting absolutely crunched by the Yabs in a final one year (about 89 I think it was) and he was always getting hurt...just never seemed to see it coming. We used to all close our eyes when Mark went for the ball but wasn't a bad shot for goal once he got hold of the pill.

Port v Sturt at Alberton last year. A couple of 'not so bright' sturt supporters were not taking our defeat so gratiously and insisted on making unfunny boring comments about port ferals. After putting up with the unfunny/stereo typeing comments for about an hour the port lad next to us (unwashed/dirty clothes etc etc) came up with..
"I'd take you on in a battle of wits but my Dad told me never to assult an unarmed man"
The brother in law and I could hardly stand up. We had to shake the guys hand at the end of the game, after all he had provided the only real entertainment!

Collingwood legend Des Tuddenham's son Paul was playing for Old Xaverians in
VAFA 6 or 7 years ago when a spectator yelled out,
"Tuddenham, you're a hack....you can't kick.......can't mark......can't run....."
And after a pause of 5 or so seconds, "...and your Dads a thief!!"
Hilarity ensued amongst the 100 and bit spectators as Tuddy looked around
for the culprit.
If one person does it, it's insanity. If millions do it, it's religion.

I always get a chuckle when I think of this story:

I didn't hear this comment myself, but it was related to me by a mate who was playing for South Adelaide in the late 1970s. He had a team mate named Mark Caesarowicz who was going prematurely bald. Trouble is, he had a luxurious growth of hair on his shoulders and unfortunately wore short sleeved jumpers.

My mate said the ball went out of bounds when he heard someone from the crowd yell out, "Hey Caesarowicz, why don't you wear your toupee' on top of your head instead of your shoulders?". My mate said he was laughing so hard he could hardly keep playing the game.
