Ahh here's hoping Punky comes prepared with a fresh pineapple for whence the final siren sounds....

BTW why would anybody want to watch a big screen of another game, when another game is in progress FFS??

damn insulting to players trying to play a game......

Methinks those that have voted yes are ancestors/relatives of those who were at the Bay waiting for the tidelwave that Dunstan turned* back........
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

This is a great idea Aerie. Only issue would be grandstand seating - it's RAHS members only. On the other hand, a lot of them might like to watch and it would be a good way for the country folk to catch a SANFL game while they're down here for the show!

Reckon it's a good idea, Sam - they could have kept the Bay v South game at 12.30, and it would be over in time for the telecast on the big screen.

Except you'd get so many "football supporters" who would turn up till 2.30, coz they have no interest in a game of footy that doesn't feature the Crows. Unless we locked the gates at 1/4 time, about 1.00, but then that would upset all these people, and they'd be ringing KG and Cornesy ad-bloody-nauseam.

the main plan was getting afl people back to the afl, even if they were to only watch 30 minutes or so, its an oppourtunity for the SANFL to show crows people what our league has to offer, considering most would not have seen very much of it at all over the alst 15 years.
I find with games @ Adelaide Oval alot of people have their backs to the play watching it on the screen anyway, is chance to advertise our finals series when the crows may have a week off soon.

So the idea is to have the Crows match on the screen whilst the SANFL match is playing?

How is 8000 people ignoring the football match in front of them to watch a screen a good thing?

$8000 X 8 = $64000
(plus drinks and food)

Plus on top of that exposure for a game that will otherwise get less than 1500 and create some more interest in the SANFL.

I doubt it would be 8000 though.

A new idea, Glenelg and South could play 2 5 minute halves and play at half time of the Crows game!

The Crows game starts at 2:30pm and the telecast at this stage doesn't start to 3pm plus they have a 30 minute preview for finals, so the game on TV won't start until 3:30pm. Surely if this exercise was to take place they would play the SANFL game beforehand from around 12:15pm, around the start time the game was originally scheduled for anyway and then the Crows game can be shown on the big screen directly after. This idea I believe has some merit. Having the Crows game on the screen at the same time as the SANFL game however would be a crazy idea!

Of course the one floor in the above plan is ABC TVs commitment to broadcast the SANFL game. Surely they could just replay the game in their usual 2:30pm timeslot however.

I think if there wasnt a match on and it was like the World Cup where people went and watched that on the big screen then it would be fine. But i tink it would be pretty disrespectful to the players and also the people that would want to watch the SANFL match.

i think people are missing the main point, getting afl people back to the SANFL, in some form, even if they only watch 30 minutes, it may be enough to get them to attend a few finals, and make the effort to get to some games next year, alot of crows/power people would not have watched much of the SANFL for 10-15 years, they probably dont even realise it still exists in the professional manner it does.

They have reverted back to their usual 2.30 to 5pm timeslot for Saturday.
