Just got back and all week I was hoping to kick 8 and keep The Cows under 20 and we achieved both!!! I was happy with the tackling and attitude I saw and would love to know how our coaching panel viewed it. For me, Mitch Sandberry was clearly our best and others to impress me were Zorsi, Jackman, DeVries, Basset and i really think Gags is in for a great year! I was also pleased to see Hilly works rate was excellent and Vlatko made some good leads as well! Fair enough they had some quality players out but so did we! Dawes,Bown,Borlace,Carslake,Culpitt and DeJongh spring to mind and Massie, Meesen and Pfieffer should be with us most of the year. Interesting that The Cows only gave Meesen the last 10 mins of the match, surely he would have been better served playing a full game for us? If I've missed anyone please add them!

I left at 3/4 time. A solid hit out for a trial game however it's hardly a game worth getting excited about for Norwood fans. Norwood were scoreless the whole second quarter such was the Crows dominance both physically and tactically. The Crows took the foot off the pedal after half time. Norwood still needs a forward line.

I agree and I disagree.

Only losing by 11 goals to an AFL side much more advanced in its preperation is an awesome achievement IMHO but you can get away with no forward line at Norwood Oval because of the size.

My thoughts, let's not get carried away with either Norwood or the Crows form, yes better effort from Norwood then last years drubbing, but also need to remember, the crows played a lot of kids with virtually no AFL experience and little senior football experience, such as Hinge, Jericho, Knights, Maric, Meeson, Van Berlo, Vince, Douglas, Pfeffier, Rielley, Proplyzia, the average age of this group would be 19yrs......

I would expect both camps would be happy..... without getting carried away

Norwood only had 2 goals to half time, so were very competitive in the second half to end up with the score they did.

IMHLTHO? it proves the Crows are struggling early on and Norwood are a lot further advanced than I thought they would be, Hilly must be doing some good work out at the Parade.

The Crows are primed for competition next week, Norwood are primed for competition in about 7 weeks time.

Norwood were impressive tonight. Sure the crows didn't have a full strength squad, but Norwood lacked a few players as well.

Norwood was very good in the midfield, with players really prepared to back themselves and go the hard ball. Defensively they stood up well, albeit to a lacklusture Crows forward line. Norwood's forward line is still weak however. All in all a good hit out - fitness levels appeared to be much improved, but the new coach hasn't sorted out the fade-out quarters yet.

They'll smash Glenelg in round 1.

Norwood never looked liked winning and were never gonna win. And I wasn't there.

Was there and remember it was a trial game - nothing on it except a hit out for the 2 clubs and in some stages was looking like circle work. Crows played a lot of there kids and gave them plenty of game time especially in the middle of the ground. Impressed with knights and maric from the crows for me. Norwood looked up to the speed of the game and will be very competitive this year and might keep my blue boys out of the five. Great to see some sort of footy CMOOOOOOOOON

Although I wasn't there, I'm tempted to think that Norwood got their best wine glasses out and the Crows brought around some Jacobs Creek.

Still, I'm prepared to re-think my original attitude to this match and can see that both sides would have got something out of it. Neil Craig's modus operandi is to have his side peaking "Olympic style" in September - I certainly wouldn't think they're "primed for competition next week" - so its understandable that the Crows would be fumbling and look ordinary on February 17. But as Wedgie says, Norwood too are 7 weeks away from competition so full marks to them.

Im surprised Norwood did get as close as they did, I expected another 20 goal hiding like the game last year which I went to. Very good effort by the Redlegs and this hit out will do them a lot of good and give them a bit of confidence.

Motlop kicked 4 and White dominated for the 'YELLOW' in the other game last night which is unfortunate for North!
