James Moore

At Wedgie's request, I'll start a new topic: Is he the greatest administrator/football manager in the SANFL? Bit of disquiet filtering out of Prospect from some quarters, I understand.

Players and players family I speak to think the world of James.
The job he's done in managing players especially when you have a coach like Jars who people either love or hate has been amazing.
Im astounded he has any hair left after trying to keep players like Koops on the rails over the years.
As a fan I find him incredibly approachable and anyone can ring him at any time.
Also does great work in the media and marketing dept.
IMHO an AFL career beckons.

Quite amazing that only 2 clubs in the SANFL responded to his resume a few years back.
North gave him a go as a manager of the U17s and U19s, I can remember dealing with James and wondering where he came from as he used to ring or email the junior teams through to me when I ran the official NAFC website.
Did such a good job they gave him the main gig.
As far as the story goes I think he worked at Australia Post one day and decided one day that it wasn't for him and he'd want to get into football administration so quit his job, did a course, sent out some resumes and VOILA.

I can only go on what people have said to me but everyone Ive spoken to from the CEO, Board Members, players, volunteers, sponsors, players wives/family and fans all speak of him in glowing terms. Ive heard some grumblings about just about everyone in the club at various stages with the only 2 exceptions being James and Barrie.
Just do a search of The Roost for James Moore where many associated with the club post and you'll see what I mean.

I'm not even a Central supporter and i agree with this....Moore and Grant should not even be mentioned in the same sentence.

Who the hell compares CEOs to Football Operation Managers? :?

I think the fact that a Central supporter mentioned a CEO in a topic about a football manager when discussing comparisons says it all about the unbelievable job James has done.

depends if your CEO is also the football manager i guess Wedgie.

James got North to 2nd. CLAP CLAP.

this is something kris grant deemed unacceptbale for the cdfc over a decade ago.

I disagree, the fact that one signs the cheques and runs the club makes a big difference IMHO.

Jar Man Out wrote:James got North to 2nd. CLAP CLAP.

Using that philosophy you'd think James was the best Football Operations Manager in the league improving a side from bottom to 2nd in 4 years. Also using that philosophy you'd compare North's position/improvement in the first 4 years James has been in the job as well as Central's postition/improvement in Kris's first 4 years in the job.

Jar Man Out wrote:this is something kris grant deemed unacceptbale for the cdfc over a decade ago.

North also deemed it many years ago that to have less than 10 premierships would be unacceptable. So what? :?
So it took Kris how many years to work out what most other people know immediately? :?

I like how you say they shouldn't be compared yet you're comparing them. Honestly, WTF? Do you even think before you type? :?

interesting how much north fans opinions on the admin staff at the club can change so much. certainly were not this complimentary after a certain quote from the roost was left up in the players changerooms earlier in the year . ha ha ha

Doesn't change quickly at all, our thoughts on the person who put that up is unchanged.
But yes, we were disappointed with anyone that saw it and left it there, very unprofessional.
But if it had the coaches blessing there wasn't much some of the admin staff could have done.
We don't group everyone together as you suggest when one incident occurs, that would foolish.
Another testament to James though as I know what he thought of the incident and wouldn't have happened if he had his way, if there was an axe to grind it certainly wasn't with James.

Blame the person who did it, quite simple really. (He admitted responsibility, I'd hardly call that innocent)
Also blame those who left it there to a degree too.
Certainly don't blame one of the people who would have ripped it down at the first opportunity if they could have.
Its not rocket science mate.

I had the pleasure of meeting him this year for the first time, this guy ooooooozes with confidence, self confidence and confidence in the job he does. Not the big headed type, just a guy that loves his job and loves the opportunity he has got at the NAFC. Everyone talks about what the board and Jars has done to turn around the club, this guy has had a HUGE influence. One feels that in the very near future he will be lost to the AFL, but I am sure if that happens he will leave with the blessing and thanks of all North officials, players and supporters

As a person formerly involved with the media, I can say that James is totally professional and will get a gig in the AFL soon. I Wish the 8 other SANFL clubs had the same quality media/management type guy in charge! He always returned calls and came up with some pretty good interview talent. The SANFL needs more guys like James!
