Pick-a-player

Postby CUTTERMAN » Sun Apr 20, 2008 10:27 pm

Selecting SANFL listed players only, (no AFL lists), pick a player from a rival club that you would most like to have playing for your club.
'PAFC don't want any advantages in the SANFL. It would only take away from any achievements we earned.'

Well...

Who is yours Cutterman ?

From a Cetrals supporters perspective and based on current player shortfalls (due to a few players we lost last year) I would have to say...

Corey Ahchee from Port Magpies...

I've felt that our weakness this year would be a lack of key position players, especially down in defence...

I wouldn't stuff around with Corey playing him up forward, I would have him play full back every week. That way it would free up Yves Sibenaler to take that next tall forward. A close second was Glenelg's Sam Rudolph for very similar reasons but I went with Maggies skipper in Ahchee because of his experience and leadership qualities.

Actually got me thinking if he was to play for Centrals, (never gonna happen) he would only be one of a few to switch between these 2 hated and once, big arch rival clubs. The only player to switch in recent times I can think of is Michael Wakelin. Current 2008 and very very talented reserves player Ash Duncan was zoned to Port and did train with them for a while but they told him he wasn't good enough. I reckon they got it wrong there...

Happy for anyone to inform me of players of previous ers that made the switch either way between Alberton and Elizabeth...

Sorry, got a little off the topic there Cutterman... Good topic raised though mate, well done, it makes for interesting thinking...

it would really depend on who or what you needed

if you want a full forward = chambers
'' '' '' '' small forward/onballer = callinan
'' '' '' '' ruckman = 3 or 4 ruckman in the comp

etc etc
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Who's leading the goalkicking table?
(Despite having come up against last year's top 3 sides in the early rounds)

Don't be sorry, Cutterman asked our opinion and I gave a response and backed it up with facts!

If I couldn't have Hargy then Gum or Cubillo would be next in line.

I'm with Wedgie. Hargs for me.

Second option would be any bloke who can ruck and take a mark around the ground. Kicking would also be a bonus. Been a while since North had one of those.

As a Norwood supporter, can I choose one from EACH club, give us a chance at respectability (or at least playing EVERY quarter of a game, not just a couple)

Callinan & Crane - that adds class and pace to the midfield and fwd line.

Any ruckman who can take a mark in field play - Deluca, Maric, Feast, Shaw, Parry - hell anyone!!!
