Round 12 - North v Sturt @ Prospect (Sat 22/6)

Postby Big Phil » Mon Jun 17, 2013 11:08 am

The Roosters will be keen to atone for their disappointing performance against the Doggies, while the Double Blues are coming off back to back wins for the first time in season 2013. Sturt will have Sam Kerridge and Brent Rielly from the Crows, on top of their already vast Adelaide Crows list contingent.

The visitors will not be without a chance to causer the upset in this one...

Massive danger game for North and we will be without Dalwood for the second match in a row and Joe Anderson with a hammy. A few other players looking proppy too, Miles being one. Defensive cover is our weak area this season given Ivens and Gallman also missing some big defensive issues at Prospect. Sturt may get up in this one.

I thought that James Craig looked decidedly proppy yesterday also. We look to be in huge strife. Sturt look OK and suddenly we don't.

How has Sam Siggins been playing, met him last week, seemed like a nice lad. Is he a chance to come up?

Let's hope McIntyre is told a few home truths from the weekend. He was really my only disappointment from what was a good team effort.

He needs to stop playing for frees, stop wheeling around when kicking for goal and stop turning his back on goals (and loose team mates) when marking 50m out...

Sturt to be competitive, but North to bounce back by 3 goals...

Well North will be missing their two tall key defenders with Dalwood missing again and Miles been offered 1 match for striking Boyd yesterday. Given that Ivens and Gallman also are injured and Anderson who can play back is also out with a hammy our defence looks very brittle.

Feeling a little easier now Miles can play. Still have to cover Anderson and most likely Moore but it can be done.

Sturt have a real chance to win this. So many results earlier in the season hinted at potential to be a true threat, now's the time to realize that.
I'm tipping Sturt by 3 goals. I reckon we are about the middle three mark of the current premiership ladder (Port/Dogs/Eagles) though we may never displace any of them, we're banging on the door, and that feels pretty good after being bottom so long.
Carn you Blues!
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail
