hargreaves' ultimatum

Postby bayman » Tue Jan 30, 2007 9:34 pm

i believe that tim gineva has told d.hargreaves that if he gets out of line once (hasn't yet) regarding his beverage intake etc that he'll be shown the door, can anyone (punk or wedgie) confirm or deny this ? i thought it would probably be true but thought it rough that this would 'get out' i got this from some port people i know that would probably know
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

The above would be about right as an hourly rate for most players wouldn't it ? If they were serious about winning they wouldn't drink alcohol at all during the season.

[Four standard drinks in 24 hours is the safe limit before you start doing permanent damage to brain cells. Fortunately we can all spare a few as we have nearly all pushed it occasionally. Go much over that and you are knocking them off by the thousands.]

4 standard drinks in 24 hours, shite i have a problem Tonto. known to do that before breakfast.

So far i'm up to the age of 197 then.

But to be honest I can lay the blame for this situation on:

Jockeys
Trainers (George Hanlon in particular)
Wild wild women
Chivas ( sooo good)
An underperforming footy team
John Wayne and Lee Marvin as role models
Doggsie Gollan who taught me to drink

Don't limit that to SANFL sites CP.

Was still playing B Grade for the Lakesiders not that long ago too (prob 10 or so years ago, maybe more), must have been well into his 40's then i'd say.

I reckon Hargs can have all the beers he wants because looking at his knee extension (lack off) in Wedgies photos of him last year when he was kicking for goals he has to be a major candidate for hamstring trouble 2007.

Not saying he wont do well in some games but I wouldn't be surprised if he misses more games than he plays or at best is unable to perform at 100% because of hamstring tightness. Especially if Waterhouse pulls* rank next year an makes Hargs do a lot of the leading and chasing for kicks up around CHF.

I bet there are 8 other clubs who will be instructing their back lines to do a lot of running to be a forward option when those 8 clubs have the ball next year to make the Port key forwards chase and fatigue them - a fatigued hamstring is much more likely to strain / tear.

With his age, level of fitness and the other playing options North have I believe ANJ has got this decision spot on. Hard but tough for the North faithfull to accept Hargs has gone but a good decision for North methinks....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

He's always kicked like that, I've got pics of him kicking like that from 2003.
BUT I wouldn't be suprised if he ran into injury problems, having an easier pre-season at Port as opposed to North's training regime may help him though, a few of the older players found the training regime at North very tough to say the least.
