A Lovely Day At Victor on Easter Saturday

Postby Wedgie » Fri Apr 06, 2007 1:50 am

Who's going?
Ive decided Im heading down, can kill 2 birds with one stone as my in laws live at Encounter Bay about a 10 minute walk away from the ground so will take the whole family with me and I'll get my dose of SANFL for Round 1 missing the game at Elizabeth voluntarily.
Perhaps a SAFooty meetup at half time somewhere?
Any suggestions as I don't know the ground, perhaps near the club rooms?
I'll wear my Roosters hat, so if you see some clown in a Roosters hat with a camera in hand come say gudday as I'll be pretty lonely.
I look forward to it! :D

And just a reminder to those South and Eagles fans not familiar with Victor, take the turn off on the right just after the fauna park before you hit the turnoff to Pt Elliott as it'll save you heaps of time. Or do what I plan to do, get down there early and have lunch at one of the great pubs down there! :D
Temperature for Saturday is supposed to be 25 and fine so should be great down there!

Great work by South and the SANFL on Easter Saturday! Certainly more appealing than Elizabeth on a Saturday night! :?

The Victor Fish shop is all-good too, can't go wrong with 2 whiting and a serve of chips.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Entry into the EB club?? Christ a couple of 1000 people at that ground and it'll be a tight squeeze if everyone wants to venture into the club rooms for a quiet ale!!!!

I'm sure South and EB would have beer caravans/tents set up.

Give it a go I just know the clubrooms and bar in there are reasonably small It could be a wait. FWIW it is a bloody nice ground down there.

PhilH I'm sure will be able to give you an indication of what facilities will be down there.

FWIW I'm quite envious of those who can get down there tomorrow. I think it'll be a great day. If the Bays were playing I would probably drive over

Good idea, perhaps if Phil or South supporters that have been to the ground previously could post an ideal spot to meet as Ive only ever driven past the ground.
Mrs Wedgie suprised me by telling me she and the kids will be coming along too, I suppose she'll do anything to avoid having to talk to her parents for a couple of hours!

Hi everyone

Encounter Bay FC have two canteens, BBQ, Beer Van & Bar set to go.

Best landmarks to meet probably around by the clubrooms side

Could I suggest on the hill the clubroom side of the family friendly area

Either that or the merry go round.

Dont forget fill an entry form at the canteen to enter the Southgate Holden supergoal comp ... drawn at 1/4 time, shot for $1000 goal is at 3/4 time
open to everyone, even North supporters on holidays :)
