poor kickers of yesteryear & the present

Postby bayman » Sun May 27, 2007 10:36 pm

although not 'stylish' paul northeast was at least effective

colin macvicar ruckman that played up forward kicked a lot of goals but always looked awkward
with his style

have you guys got any others ?

Jarrod Cotton. Tumbled the ball. I think he was eventually coached out of that technique, but he certainly started, at the least, his SANFL career with that style.

As a Sturt fan, going to Prospect Oval in the 70s was always something to look forward to - generally it was a nice worry free easy 10 goal victory over North plus I got to study the Bronte Mumford kicking style in the flesh!!

Wilbur Wilson always hooked the ball - effective but he had to start on an angle when kicking over the man on the mark. These days he would be called to play on every time.

AFL = James Mason (Pies). Used to make me laugh out loud, I'm sure at the moment of contact with the ball his knee was moving faster than his foot.

Seems the Crows have had a few dodgy kickers:

Connell
Tregenza
Liptak
McGuiness

All kicked way too high.

Perrie's dodgy too!
