The Adelaide Crows were liquidated and money disrtributed to the SANFL and its affiliated clubs. The Port Adelaide Power were liquidated but the money just covered its debts.

In the country's best football league, the SANFL, an old rivalry from before the turn of the millenium is rekindled where the grand final is contested between the Nor East Redlegs and the Newport Magpies.

The winner to take on the North Melbourne Blues from the VFL for the Champions of Australia.
