I'm not condoning it. It was stupid so late in the game. But if I was king hit by someone I don't know if I could control myself either.

just to clarify my position on the Gowans hit

I don't have an issue with a square up, but if your going to square up, do it toe to toe, not a hit from behind

So I expect Gowans to get 4-6 weeks for the incident

I think sydney-dog has said it correct, you keep writing this side off; they will keep coming back.

Congratulations to the CDFC and your supporters, a well deserved premier this year. Bulldogproud was wrong - you said they would be a 10 goal better side; ah, try a 15 goal better side. ;) This match goes to show you just how hard it is to beat Central in finals; if there may have been North fans who had made fun of my club losing to the Dogs in the past - there's an example of just how hard it really is come finals time. But, if North keep persisting like last years premier, I'm sure your time will come too, so don't feel too bad about it, because North look set for the near future as well.

Once again, well done to Central, and enjoy another GF win tonight!

Bugger the suspension. Fine him $20k. That will wipe the smirk off his face.

It happened because after he kicked a goal, him and Schubert had a push and shove. So he goes and gives him a roundhouse to the face off the ball. Pathetic dog act.

6-8 games for mine...

It was close to what Sims did in 1991 - except he didn't KO him. It was the same kind of punch/hit, roughly the same about of distance to the ball, I'd expect 6 weeks.

That is more than a six week suspension.

There's no excuse for that sort of cowardly act, just as there was no excuse for Sims in 1991.

Minimum 8 - 10 weeks.

31,000 people at the game today, thought that the crowd would've been a bit bigger. Have been to the last three GF's and i thought the crowd was pretty even today, just that centrals had a lot more to cheer about, well done to North and Centrals supporters for turning out, was a perfect day for footy, just would've been good to have seen a better contest after half time. Still think the GF needs to be back at Adelaide Oval, it would make the atmosphere even better. Anyway...Well done to the Bulldogs and bad luck to the Roosters, SANFL footy still shits on the AFL, can't wait til next year, bring it on. Go you Bays.

Well done to Centrals, easily the dominant team on the day and the season for that matter.

A real shame that their win was tarnished by Gowans' behaviour. Once a cheapshot artist, always a cheapshot artist I guess.

FINALS TRIVIA

The GOWANS boys played in thier 13th consequtive grand final [VFL/SANFL]

Warren Partand for the umpteenth time tips against the CD club[why is there something I dont know ?]

This was the first time NA have been beaten by CD in a grand final

The leagues lowest using average handballs per game team won the premiership
The leagues most average kicks per game team won the premiership

Both sides coaches have the same hairdo

NA has never won a flag since the inception of PP in the AFL
CD had never won a flag before the inception of PP in the AFL

Well done to Central. The best side by a long way and despite some doubting them (including me) they proved this on Grand Final day. North had a great finish to the year and will be looking to consolidate as one of the top clubs in the comp in the coming years.

A thoroughly enjoyable day. My son experienced his first grand final today and had an absolute ball.
He even came home with orange nostrils as every time a flare went off it was right next to us!

As for the game, well I said to Dogwatcher 5 minutes into the first quarter it was all over. Just the way Central started with their tackling and intensity you could see they were switched on.
Absolutely smashed North around the stoppages.

What was with the police line at quarter time not allowing the dogs fans to walk behind the North cheersquad????? North fans were quiet today, easily outsung.

Can't see this reign ending too soon either.

Whisper is Slade is hanging up the boots after today

G'day MAL, no telling off from me old son.

Dutchy, Stampy, Macca19, and whoever is going the sledge on Gowans.

YAWN. You blokes don't know footy. Did you watch any more of the game than the 25 seconds of that hit?

FFS, get a grip. It was a poor hit, but a retaliatory hit. If you could acknowledge that then fair enough. But a dose of reality seems to have missed the lot of you.
