2001 - 1622

2002 - 1729

2003 - 1581

2004 - 2060

2005 - 2266

We've tended to have bigger "surges" when Barrie Robran first came back to the club in a marketing capacity and when Jars came back to the club also.
This year would probably be a record so I wouldn't have expected more.

An improvement on last year but there are a lot of Glenelg supporters who should be members but aren't.

Hopefully as the playing side continues to improve the membership numbers will improve.

from little things big thing grow.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I know a few people who go to alot of games but refuse to get a membership due to the fact their is not much on offer, except 15% off drinks and meals and a shitty membership badge. FWIW I have a membership but if it doesnt improve might have seconds thoughts about it.

I treat my membership as a donation.
Anything I get in return (besides the satisfaction of helping where I can with the money) is a bonus.

To me, anyway.

Spot on Diss ... A donation so that an individual can look themself in the mirror and acknowledge that they are doing their bit ... Surprising though the number of people who don't feel this way, which is a shame imho

Agreed.

Being a member also gives you a sense of ownership and equity in your club, and a right to stand up and criticise and/or hopefully applaud at the AGM.

I'm a member at the Bays, and so are my kids, plus i bought a mate a membership for Christmas.

My family are also full members (inluding home match tickets that i never use!) for the Western Bulldogs, i see it (for them) as a payment for the joy they (rarely) have given me over the years. When (or if!) the dogs (or the Bays) finally ever win the big one, i'll proudly tell anyone who cares to listen that I have been a member for XX years, and was there thru thin and thin...

Having said all that, can anyone give me a valid reason why Norwood's membership is higher then the Bays?

Both have had lean periods, and similar form this year, i doubt Norwood would have more "fans" then the Bays, and I doubt that the Norwood atypical fan would be better financed then your average Bays fan?

If I paid $XX for membership and expected $XX amount of value in return - my club wouldn't make anything.

Not really mate ... I guess during the 90's Norwood made pretty regular appearances in September (not that it delivered much of significance :( ) whereas Glenelg didn't, so whether thats played a part in it I'm not sure ... Wouldn't be able to judge who has the greater supporter base (would be difficult to assess that for any of the clubs perhaps other than Port) to be honest .... So good question!

Same my members hip is a donation but I admit that as a past official I get mine at half price. I have also joined my kids up but I know that is a donation too.

Never going to get my money back, but I know that the more members my club has the better it can sell itself to potenital sponsors as a ready made market for promotional material...

The more members my club has the better it is for them so I believe it is crucila that I join up each year as i have since 2000 when I finished working at Sturt...

Bays 1714, still not where it should be but a 40% improvement on 2003 when we had 1200 members....

Well done to the board, DC & Claire (particularly Claire) for the hard work they've done this year on getting the numbers up. Next year we've got to aim for 2000 members....

Strange that they go to a lot of games but won't become members. I get the season ticket package @ $117. If I only attend 15 out of a possible 20 games I have broken even (15 x $8 = $120) and the membership package is then classed as a "free bonus"

Well said Giffo
All clubs have great value packages

There is no better way to support your club than by being a paid up and proud member!

If you aren't a member then call your club now and join up.

Our full adult membership and season ticket for the 20 minor round games is $100 ( concession just $50) or $5 a game plus free full membership!
Other packages also available - starting from (for example) $11 for juniors and country or interstate or overseas just $35 - check the club website for details of all our packages.

We need 62 more members to get to 2000 or just 67 to make a new membership record - get on board Eagles fans.

You would be surprised at how many fans norwood actually have, its also interesting that centrals membership numbers are so low :?: i know a few centrals supporters who just think its a waste of money because there club is rich enough  which is pathetic in my mind.
