So you don't regard the official CDFC website saying that a player has signed as official?
You musn't have much faith in the profesionalism of your club then, I think you underestimate them.
Anyway, your post that I took exception to didn't mention anything about signing, you said that the club hadn't named any recruits this time last year which is quite simply an untruth. (Not that that matters as they were clearly signed and I don't know how much more official you can get than the club announcing it on their website, in the Messenger and in the Advertiser as well as on here and other website from people in the know).
Crikey!

Anyway, the point of this dicussion is Central's had officially announced and signed 3 or 4 very good players by this time last year (that should be undisputed) so that's not a good comparison for this year. Im sure with Central's depth and their total domination of the comp last year they'll still be right on top.

Wedgie, were the comments made on the website re signings just in the forum section? The same forum section stated that Bello and Dew were going to play for us last year and also that Liam Picken had signed. You yourself many times have said never to regard what is written in The Advertiser as being true.

Yeah but never have I seen signings announced on here, the Adverter, the Messenger, the Mercury, the official CDFC website and at least 3 other websites, not eventuate.
The Advertiser might occasionally get small things wrong but I don't remember them ever reporting an official signing announced by a club as incorrect.
Its not like these players were just announced as rumours, they were reported as officially signing with the CDFC, Ian Callinan said himself to the Mercury that he had officially signed with the CDFC in a report publsiedh 22/12/06.
If you don't regard that as a naming of a recruit then I can only assume you only count them as naming a recruit when the Round 1 budget is out.

The simple fact is Central's had recruited by this time last year in at least Grima, Callinan and Slattery. That SHOULD be undesputed thus leaving the conversation open to can they afford to do less and maitain their dominances, I think they can. They MAY still do something DIFFERENT to last year and recruit some key players LATER than they did last year, that remains to be seen.

The club made an official announcement re their recruits on March 2 2007. I take that as being official.
The Mercury article was not until December 22 and that was the first that many had heard about Callinan signing. Admittedly, that was a week before this time last year.
Central have traditionally been late in naming recruits. We had no recruits named (even on the forum) for 2006 until well into January 2006.
That having been said, yes I am wrong. We did have some recruits last year at this time. However, I have every faith in my club and their recruiting methods. They will do the right thing by us - they have throughout this millennium after all.

I don't dispute the fact that maybe Central don't even need to recruit nor the fact they may recruit later than last year. That goes without saying.

Also, we do have one recruit in Cameron Faulkner (returning to the club), as well as the return of Luke Cowan and Nathan Steinberner from injury and the return of Luke McCabe.

Unlike, forums, yes, I have every faith in the professionalism of the club. I just don't take things written in the forum section by supporters as being official and 100% correct. I will take anything put out officially by the club as being accurate though.
Do you regard every comment made by supporters in the North Adelaide website as official and 100% accurate?

Agreed, throw a fit Cowan and Steinberner into that side of last year (with McCabe and Faulkner) also added and it doesn't look any weaker, maybe even a tad stronger.

Grima was signed in November, Slattery in December. Both were officially announced by the club in November and December. If you don't believe Footysa then surely this site, the Advertiser, the Messenger and the CDFC official site mean something to you?
You said:

Grima, Slattery and Callinana were all named as recruits by this stage of last year by the CDFC.
Crikey, its not rocket science.

Wedgie, I have admitted that I am wrong. Can you please admit that those two statements you made are also wrong? Nothing was officially announced by the club until March 2 2007.

No because I completely disagree with you, I regard a club announcing on its official website as being very official not to mention the players involved or the club involved directly quoting to newspapers that the contract had been signed.
We'll have to disagree on what is regarded as official.
Crikey, the official ins and outs topic would be mighty blank at the moment if you were running it!

True, it would!
However, if I was to place a comment on the CDFC Forum as saying that someone had signed with Central, would that therefore be taken as official?
