I noticed that on the SANFL web site when I was having a quick look on their earlier...

Great news for James, understood why he wasn't in the squad when first released but has been playing great footy since coming back from suspension and has justified his selection in the team in recent weeks. Probably helped by the fact that Harty loves the twins, just a shame Chris is injured and can't play with him as well in what will probably be their last year in SANFL footy...

Just back to the SANFL website for a second, did anyone notice the grammatical prowess of whoever put that poll on there about fnas last attendance to a state game. I will quote...

When did you last went to a state game ???

Clearly should have read: When did you last attend a state game or go to a state game...

What can I say, don't really expect much, let alone gramatical correctness from the SANFL these days anyway, so...

Big Phil...

Hey Fellow Footy Fans,

For those of you who might be interested, following is the initial squad for the State Under 20’s team. A State Youth Team will be finalised from this squad to take on the State Under 18’s side on Saturday June 14, in preparation for the up coming National U/18’s Championships. The team will be coached by current Glenelg reserves coach, Michael Godden with his assistants being 2 current AFL development coaches in both Darren Trevena (Power) and Tate Kaesler (Crows).

The squad is:

CENTRAL: Chad Obst, Ashley Duncan, Louis Hadden, Luke Barmby, Joel Baldwin

GLENELG: Trent Grosser, Jack Fosdke, Aaron Day, Seb Guilhaues, Richard O’Gady, Angus Lally

NORTH: Matt Wright, Wade Thompson, Josh Starke

PORT: Xavier Watson, Josh Taylor, Corey Grove, Kerren Hall, Matt Phillips, Ryan McInerney

NORWOOD: Toby Schulz, Andrew Kirwan, Brad Thomas

SOUTH: Nick Murphy, Chris Kent, Jacob Crate

STURT: Peter Weir, Dane Avery, Tom Hurley,

WEST: Nathan Brown, Daniel Webb, James Van Der Haak,

EAGLES: Adam Jolly, Brendan Papps

Well done to all the boys that made the squad, good luck for those who make the final cut and play in the game. I hope ALL the Doggies boys play, but one in particular I’m a big fan of young Ash Duncan and hope he gets a game and plays well. Pretty happy to have 5 possible lads who will pull on the State jumper in some capacity. The under 18's State team had no one from Central's in it but may have been different if Adam Varcoe, the brother of Geelong youngster Travis, didn't require a knee reconstruction after a cruel blow in round 1. Also good to see at least 1 representaive from each of the 9 SANFL clubs as well.

GO U DOGGIES...

Surely Stuart Bown will now be added to the squad and I might have a reason to attend the state game. He has OWNED chb all year.

I don't know about ALL year Fester...

Pretty good effort considering he has played up forward as well at times, including against us in round 3, I think ???

No disrespect to Stuart fester, but I think with Daniel Schell having CHB stitched up for the State game, Bowney might not get a look in despite his good form in defence of late...

Has there been a time finalised for the State game?

I don't know, I'm not great with crowds. Perhaps anything over 6000 would be a good crowd.

I think that it's during the afternoon, so a normal 2 pm start would be it, and it would be the ABC game of the day.

Where's Nathan Brown? Arguably the best half back in the comp.
