No need to turn on our own Dutchy. Has been part of the side for the majority of the year that has got to 10 & 1.

And is an important member of it, relieves trev in the Ruck is a forward option and his off the ball work chasing, tackling and running to space is first class. You can't fault his effort, and not suggesting you are Dutchy.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

You mean like the Elimination FInal last year and even though it wasn't a final like we did at Unley this year.....

CK wrote:Magnificent game to be at, great atmosphere pre-game and a real buzz in the air throughout. It felt like the 80's again in terms of the feel in the air. The game itself was a cracker, full of big contests at the ball (Murphy's bump in the 3rd term was a pearler) and no-one lay down at any stage. If there was a better advertisement for how healthy the competition was this year, it would be great to see it. To see so many younger fans there, with many going to Mouse after the game for a chat and autographs for one, was really heartwarming to some of those doomsayers that say the SANFL has a bit to make up on AFL still. The mere fact that the next generation of fans was encouraged to be out on the oval at the breaks and after the game will always leave the AFL far behind in that respect. This game should nearly be replayed on commercial TV to show some of those doubting Thomases that the difference between SANFL and AFL in terms of physicality is a big one, and would be pivotal in getting many disaffected fans back.

Full credit to the battle in ruck. Angus Kurtze was always going to have a tough job against Trevor Cranston, but was more than competitive all day. Interesting to see Ian Perrie take some centre knocks also, would have thought Herring might be thrown in there, but nothing doing. The hard running from both sides was a feature and some of the one-on-one contests, which probably would have led to reports at AFL level, were sensibly let go by the umpires - which was also a feature. A very good display from the three umpires to let the game flow constantly.

Ten wins in a row is a fantastic effort at any level, and the Bays fans deserve to be proud of it, but take nothing away from Sturt, they were very brave all day. A couple of uncharacteristic mistakes late just cost them when it counted. The crowd figure was interesting. Certainly a lot of fans there though.

My nomination for post of the year

I think Glenelg are getting a head of themselves, flags arnt won in June!!

And it's funny how u bays supporters keep bring up the elimination final win, is that because it's your only finals win in how many years??

You take 7 players out of any team regardless of them being AFL listed or not, its going to unsetle the team, but still thought sturt could win as we have good depth this year! Just a shame that Chambo had his worst game for ages on sat, not ideal! I think rick and boys will be dissapointed about loosing this game with the position we were in at 3 quarter time! but full credit to the bays!

Great advertisement for the SANFL brand for this game last week end !!!

I pretty much thought the result would go the bays way but it gets a bit different when you are in front there for the third quarter and for some in the last !!!

Seeya in the finals Glenelg !!!
It is what it is !!!

Agreed Blue Boy, both sets of supporters have seen two cracking games this year. Looking forward to playing Sturt in the finals (could well be twice) where the result could well be different. Sturt are a very good team.

Yes you take 7 players out of any side and it is going to unsettle the team, but as i mentioned earlier i actually congratulated sturt on there pressure and intensity on saturday, they played extremely well and looked like winners at 3/4 time.

i believe our biggest danger in the finals is the dogs. I maybe wrong and most probably am, but thats my opinion.

Who were the journalist’s in Vic saying that the VFL is the second best comp behind AFL?
I think someone should point out how well things are going in little old SA and quote the weekends game.
