Top comeback performance by the Legs tonight.
Listened online to 5RPH. Who is the bozo who repeatedly says "don't worry about that"? :x

The Bassett injury will hurt us unfortunately.

It really was a pretty poor call, Dennis Brown was good as usual, but the other two were hopeless. One of them thought he was a comedian and tried coming up with silly sayings all night. Just call the damned game fellas!!!!!

just got back from Norwood and congrats to them (but not to their supporters, pretty ordinary winners!) good game, Bays showed some real good signs and to be honest i tought the Bays had a better structure all night - Id still tip the Bays to finish in front of the legs come years end...

Top game to start the season by the sounds of it.

James Sellars performance would have thrust his name forward to the AFL recruiters. Already highly thought of, if he can play some more games like that as a key forward then he could go very very highly in the draft. Mainly been a ruck in the underage. Good start to the year by Vlatko as well.

Dissapointing result for Glenelg. Although it was early...5 goals up at 1/4 time, you should really go on with it. Would have been a big confidence boost as well for the Tigers.

Good result for Norwood. A tough first up win. Bad luck about Bassett. He's had a ridiculous amount of injuries and will now miss another 3-4 months with a broken leg. Cant take a trick.

Looks like Carlton have just found their latest recruit (Sellars).

Having just returned from the Parade, I can confirm the above observation.

Norwood supporters in general are decent folk. Those halfwits who only turn up at the Parade, however...

Not entirely sure about that.... I went to the match thinking Norwood would wipe the Bays off the park; I had Norwood pencilled solidly in for a spot in the top 5. However Glenelg showed much structure and discipline, they might give a few teams a shock over the year. Norwood on the other hand was not the calibre I expected of them; they didn't look like a team until the second half, and not like a potential finals team until the final term. I'd still expect Norwood to finidh above Glenelg, 'coz the glimpse we saw of their best was better than Glenelg - but I'm no longer convinced that they're a shoe-in for the finals.

And fair point about the "ordinary winners", in particular two or three foul mouthed yobs who'd had a bit too much Coopers. Kudos to those Legs fans above us who came down to shake hands after the match; the rest of 'em can enjoy their home wins, 'coz I doubt we'll see them at Glenelg.

Maybe Centrals fans are right about the supporters at Norwood as they always reckon that they are the worst behaved :?

I must say we have had some "interesting" confronntations with them in recent years at the parade.

went to the game and my thoughts are if norwood was playing a top team they sure wouldnt have had a chance to get back in it.glenelg need a chance to gel and didnt look like a bad side at all.will be interested where will they be in round 10 or so.they exposed norwoods lack of pace early but tired quickly ,could put that down to blowing cobwebs off.entertaining game.

It's always funny how one group of supporters gets singled out when it takes two to tango.

Got of jail in this game ... Full credit to the Bays, I think Mickan has a serious base in personnel to work with down there ... McConnell was exceptional early on, Ben Moore is the type of player every club would love to have, Mitchell looks in fantastic nick, and Sellars is just a delight to watch, I can confirm he is worthy of %100 of the wraps being placed upon him!

I thought Norwood destroyed the Bays in heavy traffic with quick movement, but had a definite tendency to come unstuck by over doign the handball .. The Bays by contrast whilst being beaten in this area, had a much better structure than Norwood for most of the night IMHO, and as mentioned above I believe have some serious potential!

Bad luck to the Snouts, given our at times frustrating style of play and the close nature of the contest I can imagine how they would have felt by the games end ... Sorry to hear there were some issues with fans, I did notice one old bloke give it out at the end after being pretty much quiet all night and wasn't impressed, but other than that I thought those around us on the Hill were all pretty upbeat and enjoying the night!

And Drebin, for someone who sounds like a reasonably intelligent person, thats a **** stupid post mate ... Our club has dickhead fans, so does yours, so does Central etc etc .. EVERYONE HAS SOME!!

Look forward to catching up with the Snouts on our visit to the Bay later in the season!!

In your words cp - you seem like an reasonably intelligent person so point out to me in my post where I said that Norwood had the only dickheads fans in the SANFL?

Never had any problems with Norwood supporters  Seriously though, not good to hear about some in Red and Blue who let the rest of down.

Good win by the Legs..I guess we aren't good winners becuase we have been a bit out of practice in recent seasons

In the words of my old man "Norwood have the most amount of dickheads in the league following them". He's been saying that ever since I was a babe.

(And my old man is a Norwood supporter!! )

Luckily 99% of the online Norwood fans (higher % than just about all other clubs IMHO - Topsy puts it in jeapordy though) and the one's that actually attend events are good folk.

I am pretty certain in the case of one of the callers that it was his first call for radio and while I didn't hear the call myself, I can assure you that he certainly knows his football and you would struggle to find many who would be more passionate about SANFL and other local football.

Ok mate, perhaps I should have just met your insinuation with same ... I was loathe to mention this the other day because I was downright filthy about it, and I find Bays fans in general to be amongst the best in the comp ... However it's hard to cop the attention on just our dickhead component of the crowd when you're standing next to a Bay fan who is taking delight in giving Scotty Bassett a spray while the poor bloke's being carried off on a stretcher ... I'm all for cheering and loyalty, but that crosses the boundary of acceptibility for mine!

Fair call. Not one of the Snouts, I hope. Apparently there was some bloke - purportedly a Bays fan - getting abusive at the Glenelg 3/4 time huddle. I wonder if it was the same guy...
