Well thankfully noone on this site will be the judge it will be the SANFL tribunal if it gets that far.

Tassie, I may be clutching at short straws here but could it be said that he was trying to shake the ball free from Rudolph's clutches?

From what I thought is he was trying to get his arms free.

as for the game central too good, it used to be said about port & we can now say the samething about central 'too old too slow & too good', well after a slow start we got back into the game by 1/4 time, then in the 2nd which is where we blew any chance we had by missing easy shots at goal plus fishers blunder & we had control of the ball & was with the breeze, as the 3rd term started central kicked goals & from accute angles & dominated the quarter & this was basically the difference & while we got some respect back in the last term the 5 goal margin certainly flattered glenelg, i thought grima, willoughby & murphy 'early' & panozzo in the last were our only players that could hold their heads up
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Still The Bays failed to play 4 solid, hard quarters of football. We have had a lot of luck this year, and todays perHence history repeating itself.

In regards to the tackle. I'd pay it......Good tackle...great tackle !

But the actions afterwards were....hmm....see you at the tribunal IMHO !

Reports? Nah...assault charges perhaps? I don't know what the situation was but from what I saw there was a very young girl who ran on to the field and the bloke who was running after her could have been her father FFS. What was Gowans thinking? That was pretty ordinary and it wasn't his role....Andrew Symonds fan is he?

At the very least it was holding on* and it should have been a free kick

SCHELL V RUDOLPH

CD barrackers are saying there was nothing wrong
GL barrackers are saying there was something wrong

Being an impartial nuetral observer these are my thoughts
Please bear in mind I admire both clubs and follow both when NW is not playing

The tackle was fierce hard and scroupously legitimate
If thats where it ended with RUDOLPH KOed then end of story

BUT
The actions of SCHELL after the initial tackle was a bit sus
Undue rough play ?
If I was on the tribunal I would site the case
My verdict not guilty in the SANFL
If it was an AwFuL tribunal hmnnnnnnnnn ......seeya in 2009

oooops...and today's performance showed how inexperienced we are in playing finals. A good experience, and hopefully the Bays will learn from today's game.

I think it was pretty simple... we got beaten by a bigger, tougher, more ferocious, more agitated, more passionate, more committed, more structured, more accurate, more experienced and more disciplined side today.

Think you could add Hingey and possibly the skipper to that group of "holding their heads up" players also Bayman.

Its going to take a massive task to come back from that beating. The score flattered us. The loss of Sherwood was not the reason we lost.. but our structures early (Schell going forward and exposing Roury who has played forward all year) were very disrupted.

Dogs were exceptional. No point to whinging over the rough and hard stuff... cos we'd have loved to have seen a fair bit of that dished out from our lads. We have a long way to go to match that effort the dogs put in today.

Agree with that Mal. After seeing the replay, Schell was certainly looking a his opponents lifeless head as he slammed it a couple of extra times into the turf...but this is the SANFL and it he should be ok to play in the GF.

The turning point of the game is when CRANE missed that goal last week

One other point
If the umpires construed SCHELLS actions illegitimate should GL be awarded a free kick in the middle to start the last qtr ?

It didn't matter who she/they supported...I only used the term father cos she was very young and he looked fat and old. They obviously knew each other. Next time I'll say Unlce or Grandad. Careless act by Gowans though. It didn't need to be done.

Actually, after thnking about it a little more, perhaps she wanted to set a flare off up a Glenelg players ass! Well done Gowans! That's the British spirit! :D

Hardly reportable then if a free kick wasn't paid....personally I thought it was holding ball..........

Not the first time the Gowans have been accused of being fat and old on this site :D

According to Mickan when he was interviewed on the 5AA SANFL show he is fine. He also walked back to the interchange bench in the last quarter alright.

I'd rest him though, just to be sure
