Yeah sure mate, the fox stand and the people in front of it REALLY seemed to be making lots of noise. I bet Jars was blown over with the noise.

Mate I was there till well after the final siren as I am at every game. The photos were taken just before the start of the game, (but as can be seen by the Pics of the game thread when there's a photo taken of a contest in front of the FOX stand during the game, things hadn't changed too much) obviously I wouldn't be taking them from the Oval during the game! And yes mate, there was a few more people in th Jarman stand (which wouldn't be hard as the ABC crew was half of the Fox stand!) but still a pretty ordinary effort IMHO:

You're right there mate, these days I make sure I take a few crowd photos so when people make ridiculous claims I at least have photographic evidence of my point.
2 games is soft mate, get dedicated!

I thought the Percy Fox Green stand was where opposition members sit?

But you are right about the Barry Jarman stand Wedgie, I thought it was a disappointment to see not that many people in it for such an occasion.

Why would you sit in the stand on a 20 degree sunny day? I'm sure the majority of people at the ground thought the same thing. Personally, I hate sitting in the stand. The only critisicm I have of Woodville Oval is the lack of terraces and space to stand on the western wing and the positioning of the main stand where Eagles supporters sit.

DAMNIT!

Well played Eagles. That was good to watch.
Skippy must have a handfull of Magarey votes you'd think. Dominates at this level.

Other Eagles people - have some humility please ...
Makes me embarassed sometimes.

To true Dissident its to early to get carried yet lets wait until we win a GF. But its hard not to get carried away by games like Saturday's after the crap that was dished up as a game by the AFL on Sunday!!
And i am afraid to say Wedgie got me in a pic in the Jarman stand

If I were an Eagles fan I would be reasonably confident based on the two hidings I have seen them hand us this year and all after a slow start due to a variety of reasons. The Eagles look and play like a much tougher unit circa 2006 and it will be one hell of a team that beats them this year in the GF but I can't see any of the supposed contenders beating the Eagles if the Eagles are on their game in the GF.

Centrals maybe and that is a big maybe because they are off the boil so far this year but if they get their best available full side on deck and the double chance they may have the mental edge and that does carry some weight so it will be up to the Eagles to overcome it.

As for the others Glenelg playing on confidence, good mix of youthful exuberance and no real hype or expectation to do what they have so far and who knows how far they can go & could suprise. Port nup, South - will blow their energy on just making the finals (if they do?) and celebrate so much they will miss their first final in a forfeit!

As for North - just making up the numbers and are................gone!

Great to catch up with (or meet for the first time) Leaping Lindner, Wedgie, spell_check, Ian, Punk Rooster and, of course, The Big Warrior from BigFooty. Also many old Peckers supporters I hadn't seen for years. That jumper was pretty tight, Wedgie.

A special treat after the game up in the cricket club was seeing Don Lindner having a beer with Ian "Scruff" Hanna. A couple of Legends of SANFL there.

Another treat awaited me in Gouger Street on Saturday night when I saw the great Wayne Carty dining at Star of Siam. Big Wayne is an ambo these days, I believe.

And to top off my weekend in Adelaide I had an afternoon in McLaren Vale, where at Penny's Hill winery I was served by Aaron Shattock's younger brother, who had to pull the pin on the Eagles for work reasons. A nice bloke well suited to the hospitality industry.

I have to agree with Wedgie re the crowd, although it was a glorious day to be on the mound. I find it disappointing there are so few Eagles supporters. As for the Woodville chant - sadly, I didn't hear it.

I bumped into an Eagles fan today and we had a good chat about the game. Unfortunately as he said, they have very little supporters these days for some reason.

He could not believe the amount of red tshirts in the ground.

One thing I really have noticed over the years is TV games impact on Eagles crowds more than any other club's fans for some reason, perhaps a lot of them are older and find it harder to get around?

There is a lot of so called Eagles supporters at my kids school, I spoke to a number of them at my sons footy in the morning, all said the same thing, Nah we won't be going, we'll watch it on TV. Disapointing to say the least.

Were you talking to them as your son lay bleeding and in obvious need of medical treatment?
