No real benefit I guess, but at least our boys get to play against one of the best teams going!
McGuiness was BOG for the Legs IMHO and at least we get to see our boys and the Cows supporters (who gloat like they've won a GF??) spend some money.

I only go to see friends and catch up with some players etc, the footy is just on in the background!

Hilly's goal was the goal of the night though!

It's hard to promote the SANFL as a reputable sporting competition when Norwood tarnishes the rest of us with this crap.

It's never gonna be anything but one sided.
Can't see what Norwood would get out of this except money from takings etc.
Wouldn't think the players would get much out of it, getting thumped like that.
Wolf Pack. OOOOOOOWWWWWW.

I've actually attended a match when we went even worse. At three quarter time our score was 1 point! Luckily it was only the Second Semi Final against Port Adelaide (1988) and not the all important season opener against an AFL side. The only reason that effort faded into obscurity is because North did the same thing in the Granny the next year..at least Norwood ended up kicking two goals in that second semi debacle.

At least we know the only way from here is up! Can the Cows say the same thing?

 What bullshit. This game has nothing to do with promoting the SANFL. Fair dinkum. Most people can recognise this game for what is, a trial no more no less. Fair dinkum! You and Aerie need to have a look at what spellcheck posted, at least he made a valid point.

Followed next week by your routine thumping by the Bays in a prelim......

Norwood and Glenelg have a great relationship, we let them win Grannies, they let us win prelims.......

*sigh*
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I could imagine all the Crows supporters sipping on their chardy and eating their cheese platters laughing that the SANFL.

This really should not have been played. Shocking for the image.
The game really serves no purpose at all.

17 goals in the last 1/4 indicates that superior fitness was the key factor in the blow out

this is the difference between the league, Full Time Professional Footballers, with the best resources v's Part Time Semi Professional Footballers, with resource constraints

this was a trial, it does not indicate the crows as top 4 side or norwood as bottom 2 side in there respective leagues, what it does indicate is the distance between the competitions

The game has absolutely zero to do with promoting the SANFL. Its just a glorified runaround for the Crows. Thats all it is and all it ever will be. Norwood will never get close in these games because they usually put out their 3rd string lineup and have no doubt been told not to do any damage to the Crows players. Would probably be more effective playing against witches hats really. All it proves is that the Crows can thrash half an SANFL team that arent really trying. Great stuff!

Any SANFL team would do well to get within 250 points of an AFL team in a serious game.
