Westies are about to get some more competition once the Hilton on the corner of south rd & bradman drive renos are complete.

Can't complain about the service and food they dish up at the club every time that I have been in there

Yeah, Westies have had a good run as the Hilton has done jack in the past, the Royal is a joke on Henley Beach Rd and the Rex hasn't done anything of note either.
The demographics in that area are changing in a bloody hurry too.

If I was around Noarlunga I wouldn't hesitate in going to Noarlunga, a lot more appealing than the Colonnades, Porty or CB.
There's nothing around the Grand Central I'd consider going to.
There's nothing around the Northern Tavern or Grand North if I was visiting someone in Yatala. :D

Eagles have a great setup, been there for lunch myself whilst not considering anything in the area.
Besides game day I wouldn't even consider walking into the Bay Oval with the great pubs near it, its all about the walk in dollar.
Christ, even one game day I had to go to the Holdy to appease the crowd on the hill as the GFC couldn't cater for them.

Seeing as I live on the other side of town I havent been in a while, yet I used to go along quite often to the Eagles club on Port Rd in the old Hanrahans site. That is a really well run club and quite popular as a result, yet what is good about the Eagles club is that they retain their club at their ground, so a lot of the locals like to head around to the front bar there where it it a bit quieter - so as a result I have had a few beers in there!

The Central club is great, yet often really packed out, so I dont get down there very often. Yet I do like going to Grand North on Grand Junction Rd, the front bar there is the Greenacres football club and they have a great atmosphere in there, I am certain that what North has done there would have benefited the Dragons greatly!

Looking forward to calling into Sturts new club Barzaar when the opportunity comes up looks pretty good from the outside anyway!

Glenelg was weak. Really Weak. Easily the weakest team I've seen all year. They frittered around with the ball up back, and now I need a hug. :(

Now I'm off to look for some hardcore pr0n to take my mind off tonight's game...

How often is that updated? Last night I went on to see if Sellar was in the Ressies and they only had last week's team in, plus you have to register to get on the other forums (not sure if that happens on other team boards or not).

The answer's simple, bring back the Bay Disco, take over Lennies and start a disco there too.
Ahh, they were the days and Glenelg were a reasonable side too.

Beating a team consistently for 2 years does not constitute
having the WOOD on them

If anything Norwood has the wood on Glenelg in night games

HEAD TO HEAD
HILL 2
MICKAN 2

quote from this weeks budget in preview "the wrap" by kieran hall
"glenelg has had the wood on norwood in recent times having won five of their past six encounters, while the parade also holds no fears for the tigers who thrashed the home side by 43 points in august last year.

now we lost tonight & although dissapointed with the result i was more dissapointed with the style of footy that they played especially in the last half of the third term

quote steven rowe on 5AA on numerous occasions "the sanfl is great its free flowing attacking footy" (which i agree with most of the time) so thats what he says so why does a bloke think like that then is a party to afl tactics in the coaches box at an sanfl club, i'll be ringing up on sunday morning to ask him this exact question

ps norwood too good in all departments of footy tonight

The Glenelg Footy Club is one of the worst run organisations in the history of Australian sport starting at the CEO{cough, splutter} and directly to the football department down.

it seems across the boards that I'm standing up for writers, but Keiran Hall's a good bloke too.

I'd like to say thanks to the Glenelg stats team for making me feel welcome tonight. I was more than happy to help out. :) It's a shame that the only shining light on the field was Luke Panozzo, who got 6.1 from 7 kicks.

panozzo can be proud of his performance was clearly glenelgs only winner while some players probably broke about even with their opponents luke was the only player that presented all the time when it was his turn to present himself

The most frustrating thing is i really dont think we are too far off the mark, i cant speak for tonight but from what i have seen (4 matches) west, port, eagles and south we could have won all of those but for fundamental errors that shouldnt be happening at league level. Having said our gameplan is crap i know it sounds crazy but i dont think we should replace mickan

Good obeservation stampy, must admit I thought the same thing when they played North in a trial, ironically a game they won. The style of play they used to try and scratch their way to a trial game win was embarassing, Ive never seen a SANFL team play so backwards, sideways, etc. Awful to watch.

Awful to watch

Grand Central is first class, always very good, although i did go to the Northern Tavern last weekend before the Centrals game @ Prospect, and though the meals were just abit better.
Will be checking out Barzaar next weekend with a few Sturt supporters after the Centrals game @ Unley.
