I thought Paul stewart was playing in the ressies on saturday but as i attended the Centrals lunch didnt see any of the twos.

Central fans get along to your clubs lunches - the club puts on an excellent do.

Eagle fans you have a few more opportunities to get to one of our home match lunches - ring the club for bookings - you'll have a great time.

the doggies president luncheons are great . John Platten was the guest last week and Tim Nielson was this weeks. They have been very high quality. The food is terrific aswell.

BTW the armchair ride the dogs fans are reffering to with the free kicks would be Eagles 25 Centrals 17( stat on abc). They tried desperately to even the contest but the dogs just to good at the end of the day.
Centrals 16.11 107 North 5.12 42 the dynasty continues .

The Eagles are getting very close now and I think that they are definitely a chance to make another Grand Final.

However on Saturday I thought the coach had another bad one against Centrals. He has had a few over the years.

Went into the game with an undersized backline (and inexperienced), yet he had Joe Pedlar sitting in the reserves. Now I am a great wrap for Zac Hier and I think Pat Giuffreda has also earnt his spot. But on Saturday both played on bigger men and at times got beaten in the air as a result. While both played well overall, in such a close game the lack of experience and height I think made the difference in the end.

Ron a one point had to move Dabrowski onto McKenzie after his height had earned an important goal in the third quarter. The lack of height and marking is an achillies heel for the Eagles. Just check our marking stats. Another option he had was to play Passador in the backlines, where he has been successful previously.

I think a lot of eagles fans would like to know what problem the coach has with Joe Pedlar. It is becoming quite obvious that he is out of favour and it cost us on Saturday, as it did in the first Final last year.

There appears to be a big problem in the Eagles defence.......that is the lack of BIG defenders. Joe Peddler is apparently not doing what the coach wants and unless there is a change of heart by the Coach he is destined to remain in the reserves. If there was another ruckman availiable Dabrowski could be slotted back in to defence. His performance against McKenzie and Griffin in defence was excellent, unfortunately on a couple of times last Saturday the coaching panel took too long to get him back in defence.

Hally does not look like being able to hold down a league position at the moment. I feel at this stage Passador should be given a go at CHB. We are at the same stage as last year, that is, needing a big CHB.

Who will the Eagles play on Chambers this week?

Lee was at the match, must have been injured or ill.

Pederson now playing A3's for Flinders Park.

The club's lack of home grown talls/bigs is of great concern.

I guess to be fair almost every tall we've produced has been picked up by the AFL. Biglands, Bock, McGregor, Hentschel, Harris, Schwarz, Pavlich and O'Hara left to North.

Not many SANFL sides have home grown kpp players.

Aerie will back this up as he was standing with me and my lad Saturday.I liked the look of the young ruckman called Hill he did get the ball out of centre in the twos very well.

Pederson in the A3's that is a big comedown .

That's quite true, Aerie. The dogs have a few and I suspect this is the most in the comp actually. Havelberg, Schell, Sibenaler, McKenzie and Aufderheide/Graham/Giles/Pfitzner/Obst/Westhoff(J and M) who aren't in the team are all local lads, but Griffin, Grima and Lawrie (plus Cowan) are all vital cogs and imports (one through the crows). The key is getting good players who will stick with the club, and this is one area that the dogs have done well in, with the Eagles and Sturt the next best over the last decade IMHO and perhaps not coincidently the next best performed clubs over that period.
