Keep lobbing your uneducated stones.

Even the crows with their massive supporter base only dragged 33,000 through the gates last Saturday.

The Pafc revenue stream is under pressure because it all goes to the SANFL coffers.

The crowd at Kardinia Pk was only 22,000 last week, yet they probably pocketed $500K.

If you include the millions of dollars Geelong spends on Kardinia park then they make less than Port do from Football Park.

Invalid argument.

Exactly. The VFL/AFL didn't build Kardinia Park.

Why don't Port redevelop Alberton instead of moving to Adelaide Oval?

Buy the bowling club & the vacant croquet club
Knock down old stand.
Redevelop club rooms & Northern Stand - extend around to the training facilities.
Develop a car park outside 'Allan Scott Castle'.

30, 000 seat stadium with some standing room?

Then THEY get the catering & bar revenue.

Without buying into the whole $$ debate, but purely from a football viewing perspective, how awesome would it be if something like the above could be done (I know it's only a dream).

There is that charm attached with Geelong still playing at a suburban ground and I wish there was more of it, and I reckon it would work a treat for Ports who still have their deepest roots closest to home.

You're right, Footy Park was built by the SANFL, of which Port Adelaide are a 1/9th shareholder and have contributed far more than that by filling SANFL grounds for 141 years.

Then we agree that when your club has exclusive use of the stadium that the other 1/8th dont have access to, then you will pay them to use it.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

How long do you give it before Duncanson puts some red ink through the budget line marked 'Magpies'? Two or three years?

It was a brilliant move by the other clubs, eventually, to allow the two clubs to merge. When the axe does get swung it'll be a Port hand on the handle rather than theirs.

I hope not, I like Port.

You can't fill Cat Park in footy mad Geelong and you reckon you're club is NOT dying? Interesting theory.

What a clown. Didn't he write an article saying that Port will be dead and buried if they cant move from Football Park just recently? Even plenty of Port fans thought it was idiotic.

Play exciting footy and it doesn't matter which stadium you play at.

I think it's a great article. Pretty hard to put a negative spin on a positive story. Well done Rucci. ;)

That's exactly what should happen.
Sell the second licence to Tassie for a profit.
Clear the debits - use any left over to improve Footy Park.
Back to one team, one town - don't burden the state with a financial disaster akin to the State Bank.
