Final score

West 5.5
Glenelg 14.11

Glenelg had way too much class.

Jesse Watchman is a manchild for West, when he matures he is going to be a star

Anyone know if the Prior and Eddy listed, are sons of the former players from 1980's at Centrals, and South, respectively?

I also noticed a Buckby in Centrals' Reserves side, who I'm guessing may be the son of the former Liberal Govt MP.

A question (not a loaded one)

Has the holding the ball rule changed in regard to having the ball and a bit of time then tackled and not kicking or hand balling it?

Bays kicked three goals in the last three minutes of the half

Good game of footy but lots of errors on both sides

Obviously at this time of year most teams can see alot of positives.

From Centrals perspective i thought there was plenty

-Sam McArdle is BACK, Dylan Hewitt please perform like that every week, was brilliant

-The ruck combo of Guilhaus and Osborne, didnt do alot around the ground (Osborne was the best) but dominated the ruck contests, would think we won the hit outs and clearances comfortably.

-Dallas Hill, kicked 5 goals, was very strong in the contest, didnt get alot of the ball but like all good forwards managed to kick a few.

-Muelendykes, value for possesions, Lairdy gave him huge praise at the 1/4 time break loving his work in the contest, got more of the ball as the game came on and used it brilliantly

-Dutschke and O'Hara were probably the Dogs two best players. If we can get 15 plus games from them we will be a much better side than last year.

-Other young blokes who i thought played well were, Edmead, Haydon, Castree and Hanna

-Jay Nash played a half in each game, was really good in his league half, lots of compurse and experience, great skills as well (except the second to last kick of the game)

-our attack on the ball and opponents, the gang tackles were back and the pressure was really good, the likes of Dutschke, Waldhutter, Collier and Prior hit very very very hard.

-no major injuries at first glance either yay!

Would be interested to know how many league players South had out, none of us knew the South squad that well, the glaring ommision being Stribling. It seemed to be a fairly strong side.

Game was highly skilled for the first trial of the season. West played many reserves or under 18 players, not sure about Glenelg as I didn't have a team sheet. Jimmy Ezard was good all game and West played a six man forward line ;). At times our forward line would have been lucky to have played 5 league games between the six of them so it was very inexperienced. After half time Brad Eagle, who is about 5'10 was playing on Lachie Button who would be about 6'8, looked very funny.

Glenelgs goal kicking was very good and there was a few "hangers" too.

It's great to have footy back
