Its sad for the Port Magpie fans who dont follow the Power that they now support a true feeder club/reserves side.

Quite obvious Port Magpies are being used as a "One Club" Reserves team, a completely unnecessary knee jerk reaction from the team selection in the first trial game of the year FFS!

A quote from the article -

"I was asked by Daniel Healy would I guarantee Ben a game all year and I said `I don't guarantee any player a game'. And he said `well, we can'," Collins said.

then mentioned with Hinkley on 5AA tonight and he said "Westies wouldnt play him where we wanted so now he is at the Magpies and we can play him where we want"

How about letting the lad play at West and win his own way into the midfield? and if unhappy transfer him later in the year?

The whole thing stinks and is exactly why we dont want reserves teams in our comp.

A question for the Magpie fans though, how do you feel that there will be guys getting games in your league team that dont deserve their selection and/or are played out of postion that is best for their team to succeed?[/quote]

AFL reserves teams by stealth

Do not like the fact that we are picking up guys this way. I would rather a team of players earnign their spots rather then have these guys who get games in a position because an AFL side wants it that way.

Really don't see why you need to buy into the hysteria Lynwood. It's a little early to be guessing who may be earning games and who may not, if any?

i can understand the power wanting to have control over their players and they can do that if they are at the magpies. but the issue is the power wouldve been fully aware of the mini draft situation, clearly now they are just doing what they like which is compromising the competition. It is time for the magpies to be officially declared the ressies team and as of next season they should join the VFL

Not that power fans would ever care about port magpie supporters.

I've always stated pafc would eat their own if the Price was right.

And now we have proof

This quote tells me that the Magpies are told to play players where and when they are told.

So what hype I am only going by what is being said.

Wow bit rich from a north supporter. North would the second most feral club behind centrals. Maybe you should go and listen to the old bags language in the members grandstand.

So let me get this straight the power weren't happy with a players treatment and they asked the club to change which they didn't. If westies wanted him so bad they would of done what the power wanted.

Lets put it this way, Taylor walker starts having a few shockers gets dropped and Norwood plays him at full back? How many crows would be kicking up a fuss about that.

simple answer, is there a rule that says the AFL coach can tell a SANFL coach what to do with a dropped player?
