Lol that's awesome gave me a good laugh and bonus for us is he is still alive!!!!

Was concerned how Moriarty would go in the coaches box but then I realised it couldn't be any worse than watching Ron's game plan!!!!

Sojourner wrote:South will name Darren Trevena as the Senior Coach and a number of SAFC members will wax lyrical about what a great bloke he is and how his experience with the AFL system will change everything and that we will soon be in the finals and so on, three years from now the same people will be calling for his head having thrown another favorite son of the club onto the football scrap heap with the others. Its what the SAFC have done to every coach since Rick Davies was sacked from the club. - they have had rookie coaches, experienced coaches, rival SANFL coaches and burnt the lot. Sadly Trevena will be no different.

Andrew Jarman is the only candidate that presents the SAFC with a different model in terms of a radically different structure from someone outside of the losing culture that is the SAFC. His ideas concerning football academies for example are exactly what our feeder SFL sides could do with right at the moment. Whilst there is plenty of criticism of Jars, he lifted North up the ladder and is the right candidate for South for where we are at, in this point in time. If South just go through the motions and pick the ex SAFC player, we will continue to get the same results that we have always gotten.

...and that attitude is one significant reason why South Adelaide I such a basket case. It treats its zoned clubs as though their only purpose in life is to provide them players with nothing in return.

Does not matter where the coach comes from as long as he presents a good case to the board to be the man to take the club forward.
Jarman has his good points and his bad! If Trevena is deemed to be the right man you have to back them in.
We've made some monumental stuff ups in the past, and I honestly thought Fuller would have been the man to get us on the road to better days but it wasn't to be.
The playing group needs a coach who can not only teach the game from a modern perspective, but inspire them manage them and make them enjoy their footy. This season was painfull to watch and was so obvious the playing group had no faith in the coach.
Lets hope whoever gets the gig turns the playing group around!

Now that Collins has been announced as Williamstown coach does this leave Trevena as the front runner?

Could be the case as I have heard that David Pittman is going to be the Crows ruck coach next year replacing Clarke
July 11th 2012....

They could do worse.

Just hope he doesn't turn out like the most recent high profile former ruckman come coach in SA......
