Two things,
1. I didn't recognise the people in the fight last friday night, therefore they might not have been Central supporters,
2. There never seems to be any brawling at Elizabeth Oval. Maybe this means that the trouble is started by opposition supporters at their grounds?

Went to Hindmarsh last night to watch Aust v Iran. Fights broke out in the grandstand, police chased em all and threw them out and Weslo stood and watched. Why are Welso even there???

After the fights stopped all the bars were shut.

P.S. This pommy is still getting used to supporting the aussies in soccer

Will any of this be reported elsewhere? We know the media likes to jump on the soccer bandwagon.
Who were the fights between?
Why shut the bars? The fights can't have been started cos people were drunk as a result of buying their beer at Hindmarsh - the queues are too long! ;)

The question must be asked, what is Weslo's policy when incidents do begin? Maybe they're instructed to stand back and watch, in order to identify the troublemakers and also avoid litigation for wrong handling? This is a serious question - because they always stand back at sporting events.

And BP - glad to see you've turned to the green and gold side!

Would love to know how Weslo have the security market cornered, when they are no good at providing security.

Would also love this thread to start disappearing...

Apparently the fight was between some Iranian and Afghani groups, the Afghani lads were there supporting the Aussies, which the Iranian lads couldn't understand and tried to pull the whole "muslim brotherhood" thing, which the Afghani's took exception too, and went the punch on.

I wonder if those Arabs were the ones at the grand final in 2005?

So has anything official come from the SANFL re: crowd violence, or is it all hearsay so far?

Did you forget to put the  after that comment, or do you really believe that  I guess the 2 Centrals supporters thrown out of Prospect a couple of years ago for fighting with each other must have been the fault of North's supporters, or the pissed low life's that came looking for (and started) a fight after the game at 'Lizbeff last year.......that must have been North supporters fault as well. Centrals have some great supporters, and I know ALL clubs have their trouble makers, but that statement reaks of selective blindness, you guy's seem to have more than most turn up to your ground.
If Norwood started the fights last week, I wonder why they were so well behaved a week earlier, and the crowd was larger that week.

I'll take the second example you make (and disagree with Centurions post) but your first example is odd... Prospect oval you say? That isn't Elizabeth oval, which is a part of the quote that you bolded. If Centurion stated there is less fighting at Elizabeth than the urban myth would have us all believe then I would agree with him.

I remember being at Puppie Park many years ago during the Daryl Hicks era........Centrals v Maggies
the Centrals Cheer Squad where proudly walking around with a dead Magpie stabbed onto the end of one of their flagpoles.................pretty low act............ :x :x :x

I can only assume they caught and killed the bird to try and pi** off the Port Supporters and guess what it worked Maggies won 4-5 goals off memory............

Those sorts of acts are rare thank goodness and unfortunately every club has a d**khead element......

So some kid found a dead magpie and took it to the footy more than 30 years ago. That person would now be im their 50s or 60s. What is the relevance of that? Do I as a doggies supporter who has never put a dead magpie on a stick have to keep making apologies for another 30 years? Get over it.

You certainly sound over it power01. I suggest you consult a professional about your issues instead of harbouring them and trotting them out to suit yourself on a public forum.

I remember many things that have happened at the footy that shocked me, but I don't feel the need to air them publicly whenever I need to put someone else (or their club) down.

Current situations do that quite nicely in most situations - for example, the Port supporter who offered Mrs smac a 'finger behind the sheds' at last years Port/Centrals game at Alberton. Before you respond, bear in mind that Mrs smac is nothing short of classy, quiet and did not actually even barrack for her team before having this comment bellowed at her by the lowlife in question. Filthy, disgusting, disrespectful and any other adjective you care to throw in.

If I were to bring that up now, it would certainly outbid your magpie on a stick that happened a lifetime ago.
