Finally a win against the Yabs. The frequency with which we lose to these blouses in recent seasons is most galling. Good to see em where they belong. :D

a very poor attempt at humour mal, perhaps norwood missed jack fosdike or neil hein or even robert oatey & that statement was almost as poor as your attempt at humour

Last year at Glenelg Oval a few Glenelg supporters were abusing Culpitt.
Chatter on the sites continued the abuse of Culpitt after that game.
Culpitt was adjudged BOG in the press
This is payback for all those Glenelg barrackers [not you BAYMAN]
Especially that SUPERFAN from the other site

Also Glenelg are struggling up forward this year
Willetts and Vlatko would be handy these days

As I said the shit I put up with when Glenelg slaughtered Norwood last year was unjust.
The tide has turned , the "heath ledger " is square now.

PS did HEIN and OATEY play for the Bays?

no & thats why that was a poor attempt at humour perhaps i'll say to keep you happy nathan irvine (via sturt) & i'm not sure but did andrew gowling come from norwood ?

i'm glad you realise that i have never put culpy down, i like the way he plays & the way he goes about it & to think his groins are shot & he has to play with pain killers each week is even more amazing

As I said the Glenelg payback was against people on the other site
MT79/BAYMAN/BORAT/DUTCHY are exempted from the shit from last year

Im just hoping the IDIOTS who delighted into posting those insinous disgraceful
offensive idiotic remarks read this payback post of mine.

I merely defended the integrity of the NFC last year after that belting
I will not lower myself and criticise the GFC for thier below par effort Friday night

BAYMAN the only niggle I have with you is you said GL had the wood on NW.

i think what helped us in last years win at home was the fact that the majority of the norwood squad were ill leading upto the game......and probably ill after the game with the result.....to their credit that day they won the 2nd half.......

Went to the game...very dissapointed. What the hell was the crap Glenelg dished up in the third quarter? Very frustrating, and that sort of football will turn people away...
Our footskills where terrible, and only Pannoz can hold his head high...everyone else involved need to take a good long hard look at themselves. Where the hell has the game gone from 2006. The Bays only really lost Bryce Gibbs, and I know that the Blues love him, but surely in todays times a club should be able to manage a list to ensure ongoing success (i.e Eagles/Centrals).
Got my Glenelg member newsletter ther other day, with a front page dedicated to the development for the bistro, pokies etc etc, and the need for the "social" aspect of GFC to be able to compete with the other venues in and around Glenelg.
Well here's something...what's say you get a side that can play finals football year in year out like the Eagles and Doggies, and watch the social side of the place grow. If a side is winning then, the support will come back down tlo the club where it belongs, as everyone enjoys being around winners. At the moment the Glenelg Football Club is not doing the part in which they should be and that is playing football, good football, playing in finals year in year out, and perhaps adding to the miserable premiership tally, that the club is "proud" enough to put on the membership sticker. At least the toilets will be done for the last few home games, under Snouts Bar, as far as I can tell they might not be able to handle all the crap coming off the oval anyway..............LIFT YOUR GAME GFC. :? :?

Yes, thanks for helping us out with the stats, Spelly - you were a great recruit for us! :D

Well, according to the Sunday Mail, Panozzo somehow had 10 kicks, although we were sure each of his kicks were scoring shots...Yet the paper also somehow had 41 less possessions overall than we recorded for Glenelg, including 9 less possessions for Fisher. No wonder Glenelg doesn't have any players in Phil's leading ballgetters in the SANFL!

For the record, these are the stats we recorded:

Code: Select all

18   10   9   Fisher, Adam
16    7   9   Boak, Travis

Whilst happy with another win, it's hard to take too much from the game as a Legs supporter ... Perhaps the biggest plus was the fact that we would most likely have lost that game over the last few years.

The Bays started with plenty of vigour and energy but the poor skill errors cost them a fair amount of scoreboard pressure in the first quarter (Im not referring to kicking for goal either) ... I joked with a few Bays fans that the winner of the game will be the team that makes the least number of mistakes, because both were coughing it up far too often.

Legs 3rd quarter was good ... They started slightly "flat" I thought but it was good to see that once their tails were up they capitilised - The Bays were ultra vulnerable in the 3rd quarter and we hit them when they were ripe for the taking.

I gotta admit, the style of play the Tige's exercised was just woeful and pretty much played into Norwood's hands.

I saw the Bays play some awesome footy last year, and I don't think this years squad is too different, so I wouldn't be giving up on them just yet ... If they had displayed the same surety as last season they would have led well by 1/2 time on Friday night.

They have some work to do to regain the confidence of last year, but I think IF they can string 2 or 3 wins together they will be back around the mark.

I think you'll find Dutchman, that generally most/many opposition supporters head to Coopers Hill, so Legs fans are often outnumbered there ... I'd be confident that there were more Legs fans in the crowd throughout the venue (as there should be for most home teams) on Fri night than Bays fans.

I will say though, that I think the number of Norwood supporters who attend games is often mythical ... I personally don't think there is that same presence of the last 3 decades ... The Legs IMHO achieve good home attendances every year due to the number of opposition supporters the games attract.

The club has a vast contingent of elderly supporters and very few in the younger age bracket, something they need to address quick smart IMHO.

Should Norwood return to a competition heavyweight, it would be interesting to see the numbers ... If they have large numbers in support there will be a sh1tload of bandwagoners amongst them thats for sure.
