I know down the Bay we play the away song....

Norwood have a habit of not playing club songs as well.

We normally do play the other team's song before and after (if they win) but yes it was noticably absent yesterday.
Only thing I can think of is maybe it hasn't been played recently at the Bay and it was tit for tat?

Or perhaps it was too hard to take the "Greatest Hits of 1987" record off the spare gramophone?

Seriously, I love '80s music, and good on North for wanting to get into the '87 spirit, but Johnny Farnham and Starship?!? Puhleeeze...

So the words:

"And we can build this dream forever, Standing strong forever, Nothing gonna stop us now..." wasn't enough to motivate the North players yesterday....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

What a joke seriously fair dinkum if Jarman has to go to such levels as this to fire up his men then he needs to go.

This poor bloke is only saying what many North fans have been thinking for years!

Absolute Disgrace NAFC!

So the other clubs that will play in the finals against north must be smiling to themselves .It is rather early in the year for North to fall apart surely.

I did mention at the beginning of the "The Roost" post that I had posted it on another forum. Still my pre-emptive thoughts were on the money!

How stupid of me not to think that Jars and the playing group would not use my post to motivate them because clearly the 3rd spot double chance and playing before one of our greatest ever sides (87 team) was not enough! It's all my fault North have underachieved and are pretenders, choke and fold in big games because I dared post something close the truth based on past experience!

Here is just 2 of the new buzz words NAFC spin doctors will use in the next 2 weeks:
DENIAL & DEFLECTION. They have many uses those words!

Thanks to all who have called, emailed and PM'd me from here. A few of you I have had some interesting disussions with over the journey. One thing that I have leanrt out of this and from the comments and support passed on that no matter who you follow or how well or bad your team is going, it appears that the true heartbeat of the SANFL and it's loyal lads (and gals) is alive and well and despite what some of you may think, we are all pretty similar in our thoughts and passion for our clubs.

So from me again thanks heaps and hopefuly it is still play on.............?

My personal opinion is that people that write such negative stuff about their club... well, I think the club is probably better off without them. With the reactions of what's happened on The Roost, I don't see what good it's doing the club at all. It's not like North are that bad and IMO they are still well and truly in the mix for the premiership. Glenelg and the Eagles are good sides who they lost to and the week before they beat Central.

It's pretty ordinary that the NAFC had the message up in the change rooms and publicly embarrassed a long time member, but if anything, it shows what is written does make an impact and if North supporters on The Roost want to continue to heap all their negativity on the club then go ahead, but it won't do any good.

That's just my 5c worth. I'm obviously not privy to what goes on down there, but surely it's not that bad that supporters would rather not make the top 3 and hope they lose a game of football!!! :?

Aerie

from what ive read on THE ROOST from time to time isnt all negative.

if the club dont like what they hear then they dont have to read it or listen to it - hey many clubs dont listen to what supporters and members in the outer have to say anyway....

I think the reaction the club showed, really does show that some of them think that they are actually better then what they are - whether it be players or board members etc.

if they used the post as motivation - it certainly worked because they lived up to the post word for word

Aerie,to only supply positve feedback can be just as harmful as being told the truth.

Perhaps North have had too many insider blowing smoke up thier collectives for too long and all it has done is create a myth about thier own rate of success?
