Even during our glory years we never had more than 5 ex-AFL players in our squad; very different to the 14 Norwood miraculously fit under their (nonexistent) cap.
Cheers

Why don't our players ever come back to us from the AFL? Not happy!

A few that come to mind that did; Sansbury, Obst, Hannath, Thomas, Nason, McAdam, Platten Wilson, Faulkner, Mckinnon, A Varcoe and Healy

(Adelaide/Port Listed; Schell, Symes, Steinberner, Moss, Ware, M Westhoff, Lee, Schwerdt (may have retired) Hocking?

Those that may have come back and left or just left: Tongerie, Cook, Calquohn, Glenn, Giles, Cotton, Mckinnon, Callinan, M Westhoff, Obst.

Have we missed too many?

Never got too many from other clubs. I can only think of McIntyre (waste of time from Sturt). Hoskin and Butcher different circumstance.

Sansbury went to Queensland, Obst to North Adelaide, Nason to Glenelg then returned, McAdam & Platten came back a few years too late and played 1 season only, Hocking to West Adelaide.

Port listed Conway & Giles to Sturt, Cotton to Norwood.
Crows listed Jack Osborn to Sturt and Josh Coulter to North Adelaide.

It is a fairly long list and an ongoing occurrence, I'm not sure how it compares to other clubs.

Add to that, half of the last 10 B & F winners have left the club prematurely. O'Sullivan, Sansbury (already mentioned), O'Hara, Jansen & Holman the latter 2 Holman drafted and Jansen to N Melbourne as player/coaching assistant in VFL.

Plenty of legitimate ways to pay over the cap. You guys should try it sometime. It happens in all forms of sport
