Very good chance in fact South ressies would beat Ainslie, Morningside, NT Thunder, East Coast, the guide dogs, GWS etc (well maybe not GWS).

OK I was wrong South reserves could beat GWS...

Thought the quality of GWS players (their talent) would allow them to give the sides from VIC, WA or SA a run for their money obviously not to be.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

An update from WilliamstownFC on Twitter (I'm not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere):

"Williamstown can today confirm that our next @AFL @FoxtelCup game will be played at AAMI Stadium, 5:15pm v West Adelaide on the 4th of June!"

I'm guessing that makes it a standalone game?

FWIW, that would make it three solid hours of state league footy on that surface inside 24 hours before the Carlton game.

Apparently if the weather is forecast to be poor, it will get moved to City Mazda Stadium.

Have set the timer on Fox tonight to record the Port Magpies v East Coast Eagles game, looking forward to it.

Is former Bays and Norwood lad Jamie Vlatko still playing with his brother(s) at East Coast Eagles?

Caught a bit of the Sydney league recently on tv and I'm pretty sure he was playing.

I would expect a fair gap in class and Port should win easily.

Last year's Reserves Magarey Medalist Terry Milera has been found Guilty by the SANFL tribunal and handed a 1 week suspension by them.

So does this mean he is ineligable to play in the Foxtel Cup game and this counts as his game missed or does he have to sit out of the Maggies game next week?

I think if you are suspended you are suspended no matter what comp it is, so he would miss this week and be back for the next SANFL game.

I would have thought he would be suspended for Port's next SANFL game and not allowed to play anywhere until that suspension has been served. Therefore he would miss Foxtel Cup game and next SANFL game.

Didnt we have that farce a few years back with a crows player being suspended at SANFL but being able to play AFL. Had a feeling it was a sturt or eagles player, cant remember

I have a thought that if it is an approved SANFL or AFL or VFL game then the suspension is for that match which your team has been drawn to play.

then again I could be wrong!!!!

The suspension is in matches, not weeks. The idea of saying a player cops "X weeks" is a misnoma from the days where there was a game a week so it was the same thing. The penalty is matches in the comp the suspension is in, and the player can't play in any other comp until the suspension is served.

The incident with the Crows player was Robert Shirly IIRC, got 2 games in the SANFL but the way it worked out with the byes and state game at the time would have made him inelegible for AFL for 4 crows matches. The Crows named him and appealed on the basis that somehow it would then change technically to being a 2 game ban as determined by Crows matches.

So a 1 game ban should, unless something has changed or this comp has some other status, rule a player out until that ban has been served in the competition he was suspended in.

Is it possible to be suspended in one of these Walt Disney Cup matches? If so, does the above rule apply?

It would be amusing to see a player suspended after a Disney match, then unable to play anywhere else until his team's next Disney match. Particularly if said player's team got knocked out in that leg.

(edit) further thought, more serious: presumably a suspension would be served in SANFL/VFL/etcFL games. Meaning that the participants in Disney cup are at a slight disadvantage with respect to the rest of their competitors. Participants run the risk of suspension in what is essentially a bye round.

And who's/which tribunal would hear the charge?

EDIT: Just confirmed on SANFL twit feed that Terry Milera is ineligible to play....

That would mean that the Port V Carlton game is a Foxtel game then so the camers will be set up ready to go and day early.
If moved to City Mazda, i wonder if it could be broadcast then.
