It took all year to get the most stupid comment of the year, but I made the mistake of switching over the 5AA. KG said the W-WT Eagles won because they played like the Crows. No KG, the Eagles won :)

Well done Eagles, fantastic second half.

I left at halftime because i was cooking and the 2nd term was very boring. The 3rd term was probably the best bit of footy as well.

Good to see the hybrids buy the dogs and get good revenge instead of only winning by a couple of goals.

Enjoy it boys.

I cant be fagged reading the first 8 pages,so here goes any way. There is,at this point in time, the fans of 8 SANFL clubs most overjoyed by the performance of the WWT Eagles today. No one could possibly wish them any ill will after their effort against the mental demons of the past 5 years.Well done Eags.Central District have been given the shot they needed to come back to earth, take nothing away from them though, someone has to lose GF day, they know from 95-96 the pain involved, they also know the elation attached to the drought breaking win.Well done Eags.I am in two minds,I know Collville was not given a medal, and one of my biggest sore points in football is Gary McIntoah getting a medal in 97 as a non-playing skipper,if any one deserves this (and I dont agree with it) give the poor bloke one,Colville was ruled out of the GF 1 hour before kick off, give the bloke one.Well done Eags.

When we lose a grand final we do it in style, never a close loss

If my memory serves me right, the opposition have kicked the first goal in all of Centrals GF losses and Centrals have kicked the first goal in all of their GF wins.

Spelly can you confirm this please?

That's one thing that needs to be changed immediately.
Set a number of games a squad member must play to achieve a medal, not just the players on the day.

What would happen if the coach became ill and couldn't make it to the game and his team won the grand final?
Would he still be eligible for a medal?

Pretty obvious early it was going to be a low crowd... its slightly more than i first thought but its hard to tell at Footy Park because its such a big ground compared to suburban ovals.

Congrats to the Eagles

The WWTFC have shown a lot of courage to keep picking themselves off the canvas and keep mounting challenge after challenge, today the players, coach, club and supporters were rewarded for there courage

Going in to this week I was very nervous about our chances, their was a lot of focus on WWT record in finals againsst the dogs, if I was an Eagles player I would of been prepared to move heaven and earth to change the result

On the game, the Eagles just smashed us in close, Skippy, Cicolella, Cooper and Powell were fantastic in close and beat the dogs at their own game

On the Dogs, a little disapointing, but 7 GF's in a row for 5 Premierships, I am a very proud supporter of my club, the challenge for the CDFC is to come back next year with even more hunger and a better structure, we definitely need to bring through a key forward and some fresh legs and fresh bodies through our midfield

Congrats to both clubs, Eagles - Enjoy the win as it has been a few years in the making

Congratulations to the Eagles. They HAD to win this Grand Final and they did. I must admit after what I saw a fortnight ago in the 2nd semi I thought they had no chance but as game day got closer this week I had a feeling they might do it but never really gave them a chance.
I had to go out after listening to the 1st quarter on line, and after the Eagles effort with the wind thought it was a matter of time for Central. But the Eagles this year are a surprising breed.
Well done and enjoy the win. Also to the sensible Eagles supporters  on this forum have a good one and enjoy that warm and fuzzy feeling you'll have all through summer whenever you recall 'the cup going up'.
Special mention to Ron Fuller. How that guy must have felt over the past few seasons you can only imagine but reckon he might feel pretty good right now.
I'll even congratulate Skipworth. After what went down last week his game could have gone one of two ways and luckily for him it was the right way. (Still doesn't mean I want to see him in a Crows jumper ever again though :P )

Surely they would have blamed the Eagles win on the Doggy supporters?

All American team sports give medals to squad members and even to guys
that they traded away late in the season.

I thought Ronny & the Boys did well to welcome Colville straight into the joyous huddle. Ronny in particular did well to stand back and let Colville lift the cup up with the Vice Captain.
