What problem?

The SANFL doesn't like to schedule against Crows and Port games.

Ahh ok, I couldn't understand your post about AFL games but now you've mentioned the Crows and Port I'm with ya, luckily it wont be an issue in Rd 1 as there's no Crows or Port game on the afternoon of Saturday April 1st! :D

I think Spelly was just trying to make a general point.

It is good news for the SANFL so now how about the ABC and the SANFL do a footy show an hour before the first bounce with the game they are showing and if there was a night game the night before some highlights of that match.

Why don't the ABC produce a show, in the vein of KG's Footy Show, have it on 5:30 Sat arvo's with interviews & highlights?

Something like the show that used to be on C31 in 2004?

Do the SANFL get any money out of the deal?
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

They did back in the early 90s but it died in the ar5e by about 1995. It used to follow on straight after the footy. Live cross from the changerooms of the winning team, and a few blokes in the Collinswood studios from other games. I know our injured blokes used to bitch about being on it!!
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I would have thought a show, offering highlights, coverage of the SANFL, interviews etc. would be exactly what the SANFL would want to help publicise the league to its best capacity.

Doggies 4 Eva, there's a good chance the games will be on ABC2 weekly like last year, get a set top box or Foxtel/Austar digital.
TroyGFC, no, its just saying the SANFL Rd 1 commences then, nice try though. ;)

Thanks Wedgie. Think I'll get me one of those new fangled top box thingies.
We used to be good :-(

I heard last week that the ABC won't be covering Rounds 1 and 2 as they are already committed to covering the Australian Open Lawn Bowls tournament in Melbourne from April 3-8. Although the bowls doesn't start until a couple of days after the first round of the SANFL, they are unable to cover it as their outdoor broadcast van will be in Melbourne and they can't cover Round 2 as the bowls tournament will still be in progress.

Here's hoping ABC2 will broadcast it again, investing a digital decoder this week.

Only found out about last year's at the end of the season.
